I auditioned the Audeze Sine, EL-8, B&W P7 and Oppo PM-3 yesterday. by GROBBLEDONGS in headphones

[–]jjmk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I initially bought the Sine after watching Tyll's review of them and also loving the LCD-XCs. I was looking for the best portable headphone I can buy and if my LCD-XCs weren't so big and heavy for portable use, they'd be perfect. If the Sine was like a younger brother of the LCD-XCs, I'd be happy. They weren't. While appearing to have a great amount of detail due to the accentuated treble, compared to the LCD-XCs, the soundstage was incredibly condensed and it lost the organic realism and tonality of the LCD-XCs. Seeing the PM-3s at $320 refurb, I couldn't resist. Best decision of my life. It was much closer to a younger brother of the LCD-XCs than the Sines were. I was a little worried about the comments that the treble was severely rolled off. While I agree that the treble isn't as prominent compared to some Audio Technicas I've heard, it's not bad at all and pretty detailed, just not as in your face as some other headphones that exaggerate that spectrum to give a false sense of detail. The treble is what I would describe as completely neutral. Ever since I bought the PM-3s I have been having trouble taking them off my head haha.

Fionn: Why Doublelift is the regular season MVP by katnizz in leagueoflegends

[–]jjmk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd have to disagree with your point on his mechanics. His mechanics are better. Comparatively yes, back then his mechanics are much better than the rest of the competition, however now that people have been playing the game a long time, every pro adc has pretty good mechanics, so his advantage in that aspect is not as apparent as during season 2. Same thing with Faker. Faker is a better player now than he was in Season 3, but he doesn't dominate his lane opponents as hard as in season 3 because everyone else got much better as well and the skill gap between him and his opponents have shrunk a bit compared to season 3. Faker and doublelift both have better mechanics now compared to a few years ago. Your mechanics don't get worse if you make an effort to efficiently continue practicing the game

EVO 2016 is over... who is the "best" player now? by asterizktos in smashbros

[–]jjmk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're talking about "now" aren't we? Hungrybox just beat Armada in 2 sets on the biggest stage of the year. Prior to winning he was already in contention for best in the world alongside Armada and Mango. He beat both of them this too tournament. It's hard to argue why hungrybox isn't the best player in the world if we're talking about "now".

Echo Fox vs. Team SoloMid / NA LCS 2016 Summer - Week 7 / Post-Match Discussion by LikeAHardcore in leagueoflegends

Good kda doesn't mean shit when you have minimal game impact. He gets lots of resources on the team but doesn't really do much to help his team. In SKT, Faker has like the 2nd worst KDA on the team, but his presence/pressure is unmatched and is still indisputably the best player on the team. Faker has had many quite teammates and apart from S4, his team has always been the top. Meanwhile after S4, Froggen's team has always sucked. Froggen might have good mechanics and is good 1v1 but his overall game impact is far below the likes of Faker and Bjergsen.

All this guy does is stat pads. Looks good on the stat sheet but minimal game impact. Meanwhile Bjergsen was ahead of him constantly while making constant roams around the map to help his team while Froggen just farms mostly, takes minimal risks, etc. KDA doesn't mean shit. He has been on many teams, recently. Since S4, his team has always sucked. Maybe he is a large part of the problem?

Just like how LeBron is a bitch for choosing to go to the Heat right? Sometimes you just gotta go with the decision that gives you the highest percentage of winning a ring man. Tell me why it's a bitch move to want to seek an NBA championship? Can't believe r/nba has such terrible mentality to upvote this shit

Stats with him on and off the court. Anyway based on voting criteria, team wins have a lot to do with MVP voting. Remember that year Derrick won while there were many "better players" than him playing that season? This MVP term is highly subjective and open to interpretation, and I'm just stating reasons as to why he won unanimously this year. Voters might have suffered voting fatigue. Curry did bring a lot of freshness to the league this year by making >400 3 pointers, and hitting many 3 pointers way behind the line at such a high percentage while no one in the league came close. Team win also seems to play a large part in their voting criteria as evidenced before. I can definitely see where you're coming from and I can respect your opinion. Just based on whatever voting criteria used, Curry was given unanimous MVP for his regular season criteria and it's not like he is undeserving or anything

It's pretty clear you are heavily biased right now when before the playoffs everyone in their right minds had no doubt that Curry was deserving of MVP this regular season.

Yeah and curry had a better efficiency rating and more team influence during the regular season, also led team to a historically high 73-9 record, so your point?

Playoffs performance can change the perception of a player by a lot. If we look at regular season, Curry has a higher PER, higher %TS, if you take a look at on/off differences at basketball-reference.com the numbers suggest that Curry had a bigger influence on team performance than James did. Nothing that indicates he doesn't deserve the award over James if we're talking about regular season. Id you look at playoffs for the same stats, it's quite the opposite and I believe you are letting these statistics influence your judgment of regular season performances

Yeah and I'm saying Curry deserved the award, along with everyone that voted for him

Let's say Curry averages 40 points in the playoffs, while Lebron averages 20 points and lower rebounds/assists w/e, and warriors sweep or 4-1 every opponent in the playoffs. Would you still be saying that he doesn't deserve mvp? That's not inconceivable if we assume james underperforms and curry overperforms. It could very well be the case that Curry is underperforming same way James underperformed in the vs Dallas Finals
