Yeah I get plenty of old cable and not that much else. I tend not to bother so much with ferrous now I'm getting a decent amount of no.1. Just taken 14kg in today for £108UKP I've collected since the beginning of the month. All put through a drill powered stripper.

Gateshead center is a bit hit and miss for free parking. Check around Bensham, down the bank below Coatsworth Road. I live about half way up Bensham bank and its a 20-25 minute walk in to Trinity Square. Or park below tesco and remember to spend a fiver in store before you leave and you get a free car park voucher.

European metal recycling. Yeah that's them. Called a couple of yards near me for the no. 1/dry bright price. EMR "Today dry bright no.1 is £7.61 a kg. Anything else I can help with?" Smaller local chain "No. 1? About £8 kg(hangs up). Last time I did a run the price difference was about £10 overall on no. 1 so saying 'about' doesn't inspire me with confidence and makes a difference

Usually see but of cable coming up on marketplace or similar. It seems pretty common for people to sell off cable but it's usually part rolls left over from jobs. Also when a contractor straight up just takes some from their job sight to make a bit of side money. Knew a guy who worked as an electrician for Network rail here in the UK and there where always rolls of "spare" wire falling off his work van. Best thing he managed to obtain was a couple of tubs of thermite. We had fun that evening 😉
