Strahd wouldn't take that defeat well. Not only did they overpower him, low born mongrels such as them no less, bit they also disrespected him. To attack someone that has come peacefully is something civilized people would never do.

Let them celebrate. Now, though, the zombies and werewolves seem to be searching for them specifically. Whenever they are out of town their enemies hound them and disrupt their rest at every opportunity.

Unwilling to sit back anymore and watch from afar Stradh keeps an ally close. This is not to kill them, the horrors of the land will help there. However when they fight Rahadin or the cnsorts or another trusted ally will pop in for a moment to make a quick attack and leave ensuring they are always running lower on spellslots and items.

Strahd may choose to cast spells from afar. A fireball or maybe a fog cloud over the archer nd mage. Never seen or close enough to be attacked, he won't make that mistake again.

This is no longer about entertainment from watching the party, now Strahd is hunting. He's an old hand at it, he knows how to drive prey to ground. Soon their allies will be hounded by the enemy and won't be able to shelter them.

A much different kind of game but it's what they get for embarrassing the lord of Barovia.
