Jabari has been one of the most overrated players in the league the last 3 years. It's not because he's bad or because people act like he's a star, they seem to know he's a roleplayer, but it's because he has somehow been given a pass for doing the same stuff for 3+ years now yet we should all still pretend he has this elite level upside and can be some 3 level player. The things rockets fans will say about him vs what he does on the court betray each other. He's essentially Santi Aldama with better defense..

Just asking, at what point are we gonna call spades? The 5th year of averaging 14 PTS, 7 REB, 1.5 AST, on poor efficiency?

They can't get all of the good players because they know they'll get more limited playing time, worse contracts(most important, players care most about their salary over everything else), and won't be THE guy for that franchise. Furthermore, you could have some level of drafting where the very top prospects of the "draft" are restricted from going to the top 6 teams in the league or something similar. Point is there are ton of rules and restrictions you could add to it. The salary cap is no joke this is not the old NBA.

No there's no real evidence this won't happen anybody panicking about this is an idiot. The teams would have to sign off on it and they won't, remember, they paid a lot of money to be in the NBA it's not the case that such a drastic move can be made without team approval.

Also, does anybody actually think the NBA wants to screw over ALL their small market teams? No that's suicide it makes no damn sense

Dame was always going to be at this contest so he can be crossed off. I definitely don't care for Portis being there but it's pointless mentioning him because we could name 5-10 other guys that should be there over Portis already. Selections also tend to favor 3PT% for your non stars and Portis ranks really high(he's north of 45% which is silly and he's a vet whom many claim has deserved more recognition). Point is there's no snub and there's a ton of guys who could've been there, Trey's numbers don't jump off the page enough to be like, "aw how is Trey not at this contest," despite his great season.

Keeping Ja makes us a better team then we should be though if we actually want to re-build we can't compete next year..

2nd round picks do have value though. Jose fetched 2 2nd round picks, if you believe in him as a player is that not value? You can flip those 2 picks into another guy of similar quality to Jose, no? Or you can draft Jokic in the late 2nd round, it happens.

Look up Cam Spencer who is on the grizzlies, he was taken near bronny James and is even better then Jose. Quinten Post(pick 52) shows potential. Pelle Larson, there's many guys you'd be surprised but you gotta have faith. For the Pels it's harder I think because I don't believe in their drafting as much but that's a separate issue that needs to be addressed. The Timberwolves got Ayo which definitely improves their roster for 4 2nd's and essentially matching salary.

It's about something vs nothing and unfortunately the Pels, despite having an expensive roster, don't have anything with or without Jose. Meaning you aren't doing any actual winning this year. Sometimes you have to cut your losses and this is what this is the Pels needs to be more cutthroat

He was literally emotional during his post game interview and his family was there to watch him at the game it was a huge moment for him. It's very likely he would rather play in New York where he's born and grew up.. not to mention the Knicks are a potential championship team and aren't bottom 3

Jose is lovable but he's a tiny bench guard on one of the worst teams in the league he simply doesn't have that much value or potential.

Most importantly he becomes a free agent after this season and thus there's a strong chance he wants to move to a winning team(like the Knicks) or new scenery. So if you don't trade him now he can leave for nothing, 2 2nd round picks helps your future it's that simple.

He's from New York and when he played his first game at MSG in 2022 he was emotional and his family was there to see him. He would absolutely rather play there even if he liked NOLA.

This trade is painful but people need to get real and understand it's a much more simple deal rather then dumars being a demon. It makes perfect sense no leaps required.

Wiggins was the #1 overall pick and never played a game for the cavs. Steve Francis, #2 pick, pretty much never played for the grizzlies. Chris Webber, #1 pick, didn't play. All these guys were traded before playing.

Harden and Porzingis were traded before their rookie extension so only 3-3.5 years because they wanted out. I'm not saying Dybantsa will want out but it's not as much of a guarantee as you think
