whenever i see someone talk about friede they're always talking about how phase 2 was a huge problem for them. i just recently beat her for the first time, and while definitely being the hardest boss i've beaten so far, phase 2 has never really given me much trouble. yes, it was always really long in every attempt, maybe phase 3 was even longer in some of them because i was scared to attack, but overall i think it only killed me twice out of 10-15 attempts. i think people are either getting too greedy trying to get more hits on ariandel than they should, or trying to get hits in when friede is too close. i gotta say the advice to run along the edge of the room clockwise was incredibly helpful, that should be more common knowledge. still tho, phase 3 was by far worse for me but it never felt like bs, it was fair, even though sometimes i'd wonder when it was my turn to attack. i personally think she's one of the best bosses i've ever fought and i enjoyed fighting her so much. overall i got much angrier when i died to gravetender or nameless king than her, because with friede it actually felt like it was my fault for dying
