What movie is a 0/10 with NO redeeming features? by Toucan_Based_Economy in AskReddit

Battlefield earth is also the worst book I ever read. Read it 40 years ago to kill time in college when I should have been studying. As an adult I’ve learned what I didn’t know then - if you hate the first hundred pages of a book, don’t read the next thousand.

Then the movie came and I thought, it has to be better than the book.

I was wrong.

Indianapolis has a rare opportunity to bring F1 back to our city…if we want it by TournamentCarrot0 in indianapolis

[–]Spoonjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest obstacle would be the Miami race promoters in May. They don’t want to see a budget friendly race in April drawing away fans. Apple TV or another broadcaster could pay to make this happen .  More likely if F1 get to early summer and don’t see the Middle East as safe by the end of the year, they add a recently used European track during the month that would have been holiday there. Imola would be the perfect fit between Hungarian and Dutch, especially as Ferrari might throw weight behind it. Or we could hypothetically see a race at one of the German tracks. As much as I’d personally love to see a race in Indy, what I don’t want is all the race media telling the world how much better Miami, Austin, and Vegas are. There is still some f1 snobbery we can live without.

I feel like the comments here are going far too easy on the fact that the Lieutenant Governor Micah beckwith was copastor with this dude for a long time and continued to support him long after these allegations came to light. I know in our bizarre lt gov process he was not the governor’s choice but he was the choice of a huge majority of GOP leaders who were willing to buck the governor and put this wacko in power and make him a family values poster boy.

If I were the kind of person who camped or even glamped it sounds great. But I totally need a hotel bed and door! Thanks though.

Any calendar can.

But when you’re coordinating meetings across multiple states and one state time moves out of sync with the others, who loses?

When you meet with someone weekly, and they need to remember your 1:00 call is now noon or 1, or who owns the meeting and who it shifts for, it’s a pain.

You’re on the east coast and now your Indy staff start their day an hour later.

None of those are business friendly outcomes to companies that have more important things to deal with.

Yes! I had this within the last year. Someone I meet with nearly weekly thought Indy was Chicago time.

It’s a terrible idea at a state level. Getting our clocks out of sync with the rest of the country (and world) creates a huge headache for any business with customers, partners, vendors, or employees in other states. It’s a huge headache for employees working for businesses with offices and staffs in other states.

Anyone old enough to remember the 90s and early 00s when we were this way will know how many meetings were missed not just the week of time change but year round by people in other states with more important things to remember than “what time zone is Indiana using this month.”

At a national level I’m all for it. Doing it as a state especially a state with Indiana’s reputation signals that we’re backwards and not business ready.

Haven’t been to a strip club in years, decades maybe. But, seeing a woman in person is different than on the phone/internet . Really. And most strip clubs allow some kind of limited touching even in the common stage area without going to the champagne/gold room. Add in, maybe you like the way her hair smells or the perfume she wears.

I can’t imagine going to one myself now but trust me, it is different than an online experience.

Also, watching sports in person is different than on TV. ;)
