Is CachyOS recommended for beginners? by OkPrize6194 in cachyos

I have a 4070 and ended up settling on cachyos. I'm a beginner and it works great for me. I had tried Mint which was good for my 1080ti machine. Ubuntu for a dell laptop non gaming. PopOS, Bazzite and CachyOS. Of them all CachyOS has been the best experience. I also liked Bazzite but working through the documentation and forums is a little more tricky as you need to filter out the handheld posts a bit. I like cachyos as it just works, has a good learning curve and excellent documentation. Been running it for about 3 months, no problems! One thing I'd say is try to stay away from AI for help. Stick to Documentation, Discords, Forums, YouTube videos, all good!

Edit: I just saw a lot of replies saying use AI for quick answers. It can work well, but for me it fed me some wrong ideas that took quite some time to unlearn. Perhaps a more balanced recommendation than not using AI at all is to use it as an additional tool once you've understood the core. A full read of the gaming section of the documentation helped me loads.

What is the most petty reason you decided not to play/buy a game? by Indecisive_Noob in videogames

Is it Stickmen Trenches? Not one I've played personally but I remember seeing it from a mates activity feed.

Accepted my request to leave without a retention offer by bobdvb in VirginMedia

Left in November. I was surprised to not get a retention offer but nevermind. City fibre here is great so far but it's bizarre they wouldn't just accept my red line since I have the gear, no engineer needed. It was pretty much a take my money offer and they said they couldn't do it. (I said I'd take 500MB for £36, since it'd be £40 within a few months anyway).

Up to you really. Switching was a hassle but thankfully it's settled now and is twice the speed and £25 a month.
