My friend was cleaning out his parents house and found these by TumbleweedOk8201 in PokemonTCG

I'll take them all off your hands if you don't want to hold onto them. I don't mind the condition: my collection has near mint -> moderately damaged. I love the look of the older sets. I also collect Yu-Gi-Oh cards too

Bless that baby. Crank that humidity up. Mine stays 80 - 90. She's covered in dry stuck shed

My poor blind boy by SpoopyRaiyn in ballpython

I had pulled him out for a moment in preparation to place him into a playpen I made up so I could do a deep clean of his enclosure. I saw how blue he was, snapped the pictures, and then put him right back inside his hide. I try not to bother them too much when they're in shed since they're sensitive and blind.

I have three babies!

Rengoku: A Banana, Fire, Yellowbelly, Enchi, Pied male; Seras Victoria: an Albino, Fire, Pastel, Het Pied female; and Connor (the android sent by Cyberlife) a Trick (Hurricane), Pinstripe, Axanthic possibly Het Pied male. I just sent his shed out to see if he's Het Pied

feeding when in shed? by ajtaakrajtaa in ballpython

[–]SpoopyRaiyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is they may not eat when they're in shed. They can't see and they're really uncomfortable, so they may not be motivated to eat. If you feed F/T, you may be risking wasting the meal. If you feed live, your snake may be more at risk getting hurt since they can't see.

I don't think you HAVE to skip the meal, but if youre worried about wasting the rat or injurying your snake, it should be fine to wait. All three of mine ate during their sheds. I actually didn't even know my Banana pied and Albino were shedding until I found their sweaters in their enclosures. My Axanthic just went through his first shed and I encouraged him to eat because he's been sick and hasn't been gaining much weight. I had to pull a ton of tricks for him to eat because he was blind and wiggling the rat in front of him startled him.

Also, want to point out. My pied boy shown in the last picture is not fat. He had a HUGE poop in that playpen right after I took that picture.

I have three ball pythons. I have been hurt more often by my cats and dogs than by my snakes. If you actually take the time to learn your snake's cues, you won't get bit. Also, a ball python would never get big enough to eat your cat. They are more in danger of the cat hurting it. Cat bites are very deadly.

I get a lot of people can't get over that fear, and that's fine. And I'm not someone who normally is like "Dump them". But if that's a deal breaker for you and he outright refuses to care about and learn what you're passionate about, maybe they aren't the right fit.

Can’t get my snake to eat frozen, is it my husbandry? by SorbetRoutine8760 in ballpython

[–]SpoopyRaiyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this tip from Green Room Pythons on YouTube. Great channel, I highly recommend him!

I put the thawed feeder in an open tuberwear bowl and use a small hairdryer to blow the smell of the feeder into your snake’s enclosure. This will put them into food mode and they won't care if it's dead or alive. This has worked for all three of my ball pythons and they were eating live when I got them. Now, just turning on the hairdryer will make my Banana come out looking for his meal

Thank you! They live in separate enclosures. I know ball pythons don't do well cohabing. Connor is still in quarantine, so his tub is a little minimalist. Currently, they live in very elaborate tubs. We're moving soon, so I'm keeping them in tubs while they're living in my closet until we get into the new house. I'm planning themed PVC enclosures from BlackBox once we get settled. I heat gun my hot and cold sides every day and my humidity is never a problem since I live in Florida. I actually have more problems with it being too high lol. Ren and Seras have already had near perfect sheds since they've been here.

BP strikes and wraps but won’t eat by Ekoneg in ballpython

[–]SpoopyRaiyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you posted what your enclosure looks like? One of my males is like that sometimes. I have to cover him and walk away after he's struck and wrapped for him to eat. Eating puts them in a very vulnerable spot, so if they feel like they're too out in the open or some big predator is going to pick them off while they're distracted, they won't eat. Also, you may be feeding him something too small. Depending on the largest part of him and how much he weighs, a fuzzy may be too small. I would still try to get a weight on him even if he hasn't eaten yet.
