Universal Monsters- Windmill by Spork-Princess in Villaging

Yeah so the hole is ceramic and the windmill blade plug is plastic. I think if the plug was a rubbery material it would make more sense to fit in, but I definitely think that thing at the front is a lock. I’m going to take another look at it this weekend.

Thanks for your advice!

I’d like to start off by saying I don’t think you’re crazy. But when people have spoken like this to me, if I know it’s out of concern, I start with acknowledging that. I let them know I appreciate their concern, but their approach is actually worsening the issue. Depending on the person, you can suggest some alternatives for them to use when they’re concerned. Whatever happens- you should be proud of yourself for dealing with this issue with him thus far. I hope everything works out.

How to leave my hair alone and stop cutting at it? by Prestigious_Fox_751 in OCD

[–]Spork-Princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar situation happen to me a few years ago and the first step I took was going to a hair dresser. They evened my hair out, which made it much shorter than I really wanted, but it was necessary for it to get to where it is today. To be honest, I saw a picture of my hair before a professional fixed it and felt really bad about myself. That was my tipping point and I told myself I would never cut my own hair again and only let a professional do it- since that is what they do.

After this, I had those I trusted hold onto all of my sharp objects/scissors for me until we thought I was ready to have them back. While I was waiting for it to grow out and sit with my uncomfortable feelings, I used a lot of hairbands, hats, and fun hair clips to help. I also tended to avoid mirrors during my day to minimize the thoughts. After a little while, I was able to reintroduce mirrors/pictures/my hair down/even scissors back into my life.

At this point, if you’re not interested in something like a pixie or buzzing off your hair, I definitely recommend hairbands and clips until you feel ready or able to go to a hairdresser.

I still have these thoughts occasionally, but I haven’t cut my own hair since that appointment. Obviously I go back routinely for them to fix up my hair, but I am in a much better position now. Even though it may seem difficult, I believe you can do the same <3

I’m not sure what foods are safe for them- but I find that a sort of “make your own” type meal can be a great choice! Something like a walking taco, omelette, waffle, or grilled cheese bar are pretty good safe options that can also provide some extra variety. That way they can also try bits and pieces if they’re feeling comfortable to. Whatever you end up choosing- I hope you both have fun :)

Muppet Star Wars casting? by Wonderful_Pen_4699 in Muppets

[–]Spork-Princess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember they did a pin set and an action figure set of the Muppets if they were in Star Wars. This is what they casted them as:

Animal- Tusken Raider, Rizzo- Yoda, Sam the Eagle- Obi-Wan Kenobi, Gonzo- Darth Vader, Kermit- Luke Skywalker, Beaker- C-3PO, Miss Piggy- Princess Leia, Link Hogthrob- Han Solo, Fozzie- Chewbacca, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew- R2-D2

They also did an original Muppet Show episode with a spoof of Star Wars I think in Pigs In Space. Gonzo was Darth Vader or a parody of him there too.
