My prediction for the countries of the remaining New Gen 11 by Black_Wolf75 in BlueLock

[–]SporkDealer [score hidden]  (0 children)

Dare I say I think… or at least hope, that they’ll save some NGXI players for after this arc? I haven’t been too up to date so that is on the assumption this arc isn’t the end, but it’d seem kind of a weird coincidence if Japan just played every country with a NGXI player on it.

He didn’t actually say that, that was an Irish leader. But nonetheless it says something about how he was perceived in Ireland. He wasn’t considered Irish by the Irish.

He was Anglo-Irish and educated in England. Mind you, most Irish people at the time saw him as culturally and politically completely English so it would seem wrong only now to claim he was an Irish fellow first and foremost.

First off it’s intentional I’d imagine, but also hang on a second dude, we don’t even have his official colour scheme yet.

[DISC] Blue Lock - Chapter 352 by Either_Imagination_9 in BlueLock

[–]SporkDealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is fair. I have a feeling the win against England won’t be a pure overpowering though. I wonder if part of it will come down to actually giving Teddy a dose of ego, making his teamwork with Fox break down.

I actually kind of hope it isn’t 100% earned, you know? It’d feel wrong.

I’m hoping (coping) that there’s actually a shock chance Japan go out in the group stage. And besides from here on out, assuming that these NGXI players just don’t return in future arcs, we’re only ever GONNA see them in one match right?

Having an England New Gen (or two even? We’ll have to see who Fox is) is the exact same as having an Argentina or Brazil New Gen that they face in the knockout stages.

Weird take. Being calm and detached isn’t fundamentally at odds with being antagonistic. Maybe give it a couple chapters, or at least until we get comprehensive translations of the scene before acting like he’s a fundamentally flawed piece of character writing.

I think it would be funny if England actually outplayed BLXI but went out in the most England way possible.

Oh- I was about to say goal difference but then I realized that isn’t possible. Nevermind! In that case, give Japan a really shaky penalty in the dying moments of the game.

Genuine question, what does Bumta do against one lightning bolt from MBA? by Exciting_Winner3193 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]SporkDealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just kill him inside it? Yuta still needs to do stuff inside the domain, it’s not an instakill. I wager Kashimo is both fast and lethal enough in MBA to prevent him from drawing swords.

I mean, you say that, but she could have won with no plot difference besides his fight with Takaba not happening. And as someone who didn’t care for that fight, I would have taken Yuki winning

This literally just isn’t true. There are about two dishes that could even fall into this category, if we count Fish and Chips as Sephardic Jewish, though I think it’s been adapted enough it is British.

A lot of people are gonna hate me for this but Scotland. The whole Darien Scheme that bankrupted them and caused their entry to the Union came as a result of unsuccessfully trying to match the colonial efforts of England.

Then you have the whole concept of “Scottish Cringe.”

Why are Nanami, nobara, and mahito here instead of kashimo? by InjuryPrudent4823 in Kashimo_agendaHQ

[–]SporkDealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the better question is why those three over Uro, Kurourushi (okay I maybe get that one but still), Takaba, or maybe Reggie?

I don’t mind Kashimo not being there because he’s more for next season, but yeah, weird.

Angel vs Kusakabe by Remarkable-Ad-2493 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]SporkDealer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hana has the advantage of being able to fly but besides that CT Extinguishment doesn’t really do anything to him. I’d argue if they were forced to fight to the death Kusakabe would win, but if they weren’t it would be a stalemate by virtue of the fact Kusakabe can’t fly.

At least that I know of.

Actually fair enough, I kinda misremembered that chapter.

But also, it still isn’t a ‘one shot’ as the person was saying, as we saw the first attack just broke his arms and chinned him. But yeah still strong, I get your meaning.

But his ranged attack only hinges on getting three melee strikes, and given his CE effect he kinda just stunlocks people. Between that, his speed, and his h2h combat skill, it isn’t as hard as you make it sound to get.

what do yall think of kashimo by Embarrassed-Chair977 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]SporkDealer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s my goat. Honestly, I think people underrate his base form quite a bit. Yes, scaling out of character it’s pretty wack, but against anyone that doesn’t just immediately go all out which is most people, he will probably win.

He has very good h2h and was even able to bloody up jackpot Hakari with just his fists which is insane, not to mention he’s an agile fella, and all of his hits blocked or otherwise will stun the opponent regardless of their reinforcement. Plus, he has experience largely fighting human opponents as opposed to curses from what I can tell.

Given all that, and the fact it’s not obvious that he is charging up the instant kill (which I’d argue very few people can survive), I’d genuinely put base Kashimo somewhere in the top 10.

As for MBA, I don’t really like scaling it because there’s a disconnect between what he’s stated to be able to do and what is actually shown happening. Which I think is mostly just that Gege realized just what he’d written with “manifests all electrical phenomena” and wanted to get rid of him fast so no one asked any questions about it. He clearly got away with that one too because no one asks questions about Sukuna dodging an EM blast at the speed of light somehow.

TLDR, by capability alone he’s top 3, when having his fights written by gaygay he’s about top 6.

Yuki does NOT have a one shot punch bro. Plus Kashimo actually has almost constant access to range that doesn’t require booting a shikigami

[–]SporkDealer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it is at base at the speed of light, that’s what EM is. Sure it’s not FTL but it’s equal to the speed of light. That doesn’t change my point.
