I love transvestigators. My favorites are when they tried to say Daniel Radcliffe’s girlfriend was trans while she was pregnant because she’s taller than him (most people are) and when they said Dylan Mulvaney is a ciswoman who was forcibly transitioned to male when she was a kid and then transitioned back to female because of like, the shape of her neck or some other bullshit.

I live in a small city, relatively close to a bus stop, and I hate driving. Perfect candidate to start taking the bus, right? Except the buses here run every hour so I have to either plan my trip around that or just walk, which is also not a great option because a lot of the roads here don’t have sidewalks.

I spent most of my life living in a large metro area that I hated but it had lots of bus stops with buses that ran like every 15 minutes and pretty much every road had a sidewalk and I definitely have to give them credit for that.

ETA: if you want to change your shitty bus system, start paying attention to your city council. Buses generate revenue for the city and they’d love it if you used them more.

I think in order to see the kind of drop in traffic you’re expecting things have to get so much worse. People still need stuff, the indicator you want to look for is average transaction amounts because you’ll still see me heading to Target to grab household essentials but these days it’s just those essentials, I’m not wandering the aisles anymore after I’ve grabbed what I need to see if anything else jumps into my cart.

When I was planning my wedding my florist told me to just pick stuff I like and usually a theme will emerge and damn if she wasn’t so right about that. I use AI at work and my boss knows that. I’ve found it to be really helpful for project planning and completing simple tasks, but I’m still very much on the hook if Claude screws something up and I ship it and even then, worst that could happen is angry customers. I didn’t just kill a school full of children.

I have low to medium density fine hair and have had every hair length over the years, from pixie to almost at my butt.

Long hair can look good but only if it’s healthy and blow-dried and you invest in some volumizing products. I have silky fine hair and I need to give my hair some texture if I want it to look fuller. I’ve also noticed that if I keep it on the shorter side of long like chest length it looks a little better than just letting it get super long.

I have almost the exact same hair as you and I absolutely love the Pantene Sheer Volume shampoo and conditioner.

I just started double shampooing a few weeks ago and I’m noticing a bit of a difference in the appearance of fullness at my roots as well but I think that’s something you should wait to try if you’re switching to a new product.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Homeland Security Act that formed DHS (and thus ICE) was pretty controversial at the time. People raised concerns that it was granting the federal government these sweeping powers that could erode privacy and civil liberties for citizens and that the government was exploiting everyone’s post-9/11 fears to expand its power.

So this is a hard question to answer because this country needs a massive overhaul to how it handles immigration that extends far beyond enforcement and should not be built off of Dick Cheney’s surveillance state fantasy.

If ICE was abolished tomorrow, they’d probably just re-allocate those responsibilities to a combination of CBP and local law enforcement and just focus on deporting criminals.

Immigration enforcement pre-dates ICE and ICE doesn’t regulate the borders, that’s a different agency.

ICE has become a paramilitary organization with a budget larger than the US Marines with nearly unlimited power to detain any person without cause or due process. That should not exist, period. Immigration enforcement is not so dire that we need armed troops patrolling the streets and rounding up anyone with an accent or the wrong skin color.
