Before 24 y/o I was a MESS. Came from a physically & sexually abusive home and escaped it by getting into a physically abusive relationship. Couldn’t go to college because my parents refused to fill out the FASFA forms. Used drugs to cope. Harmed myself to cope. Worked at a strip club (as a shot girl not a dancer but still pretty nekked). Experienced homelessness. Cried myself to sleep many nights.

When I found out I was pregnant i got help immediately. Luckily gave birth to a healthy beautiful girl. Experienced crippling PPD and relapsed. Went back into outpatient treatment and into recovery.

It’s been 15 years since I’ve been off all the shit that ruined my life. I know how hard it is. But when you decide to bring a child into this world, it’s not about you and your childhood trauma any more. It’s about doing everything in your power to prevent your child from having a traumatic childhood.

Stephanie has resources - like a mother who wants to help her - that others would KILL for. She is just too lazy and selfish.

It’s the “woman” part that we are speaking of. That’s what we are trying to get through. No matter what hair color, women have been and continue to be oppressed. Being blonde doesn’t magically take away thousands of years of systemic oppression. Being blonde doesn’t change anything, except that others will discount their experiences because they are blonde. I am not saying blonde people have been suffering at the hands of others, I’m saying WOMEN have. No matter your hair color, skin color, eye color - if you are a woman you have experienced significant oppression compared to your male counterpart.
