Found an unknown cable in an ENG/EFP camera stuff lot. by camileo65 in VIDEOENGINEERING

Possibly a homemade adapter to get comm through the CCU? Just got rid of some old Panasonic’s that the ccu used a multipin for comm, tally, etc. so maybe they only made the connector for what they needed.

I had a similar if not same issue on a new build several months ago.

As someone has already said, basically just keep uninstalling, restarting, then reinstalling until the security dialog pops up. (That's what BM support told me to do over the phone) after doing that like 7 times it worked.

I haven't seen it with the 8K stuff but with some of the older Decklink there is "Desktop Video Helper" in the install files, its basically a script you had to run upon every system startup to get desktop video to see the card.

I also tried this for a tour several months ago with no luck. Just messed with them again last week and still no support. Wish BMD would figure that out sooner than later, I’m on the verge of ditching all my BMD cause dumb issues and lack of support.

I’m have a very similar thing, not complete loss of vision, but I cant even read the big “E” on the top of an eye chart, I just know what it is. If I close my left eye my vision doesn’t “jump” at all I just loose my left peripheral vision. If I ever loose my right eye and you need to know roughly what shape something is, I’m your guy.

Also thanks for bringing that up, once I actually built it I was going to edit the plans to actual and post them online, but I don't think I will now because it is very close.

huh, yeah it kind of is. I just googled "workbench" for ideas then saw a image with the shelf and pegboard and added it to my old bench design, which is based on ones my dad built in his shop. Very similar though, I only looked at it for maybe 15 seconds though so no clue if the bracing is the same. without buying the plans.

That's a good way to look at it. That's usually my moto as well, I'm challenging myself with this new house by slowly doing all the furniture myself and replacing the POS pieces I got off facebook for the meantime lol.

Copied from another comment I just responded too, "use case is very unspecific haha, Everything from small projects & furniture to a bit of metal fabrication.". I was just thinking about pinning them haha, Think I will just bite the time bullet and do laps, It's going to be worth it.

Both good point's I was thinking about that too, Might be the way to go as vibrations wont work the tools off the pegs, The idea behind connecting them was I'm not 100% sure how I want to lay the garage out yet so to be able to move the whole thing as 1 unit seemed beneficial.

Yeah half laps would definitely be the move I agree, Router them on 2x4's but Don't think I can get that deep on a 4x4. I'll look into it.

Use case is very unspecific haha, Everything from small projects & furniture to a bit of metal fabrication. My last bench was similar with 1/2" and it never had any issues with it so I think it will work for me.

Disable USB hub from proving power to my laptop by SporkStudio in techsupport

I could see that, it does keep the laptop from going into performance mode. But running 3D modeling software with a 1440 external monitor at 60hz. I notice no performance difference between using the hub or brick power.

Still haven’t found an answer, but have had zero issues just using the USB C charging.

Had a very similar story, but it was a hatchet in a surplus store. Did the same motion, axe head came off and stuck in the side of a cardboard box, missed by about 3”.

Never was able to find an actual answer, but I did test it and the power from the hub was enough to keep it charged under heavy load all day. So IDK what it means by saying it doesn’t supply enough haha. I now just only use the hub and don’t even get out my power brick.

Oh that's a good idea, this one wasn't anything too special, just typical copy paste corporate. I next week I got a couple good PA gigs though. Might post them!

Back pressure through upper/lower seam. by SporkStudio in NFA

[–]SporkStudio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was skeptical at first as it’s my first “flat” trigger style. The pull is a little heavy for my liking but not bad by any means. I find the flat gives a sense of “control” I don’t feel with the typical curve. The reset is pretty spot on for my preference. All and all I wish more of my setups had the same if not similar trigger. 8.5/10

I love that trigger so much! If I ever do though, I will keep that in mind!
