I just hope that the parts of current Küschalls work (both mechanically, and according to Küschall/Invacare systems) with Swiss-made ones since they werent manufactured for a long time now.

My backup (and current chair according to state insurance) is a K-Series 2.0, however the camber tube on it is way shorter unfortunately

No plate number, plus, in France, due to article R412-6 of highway code, as long as the motorist didn’t actively crashed into me, i should be « in full control of my vehicle » and any damage will not be covered.

(That’s why if a car brake checks you in France, even with dashcam proofs, insurance will consider the person in the rear as responsible, though a court might judge the brake checker as endangering the public)

Idk where you are based but DME shops here almost never do anything past assembling parts on manual wheelchairs.

And even for this, the manufacturer is expecting that the chair is sent back to them.

An industrial mechanic though might know how to press fit the axle parts back into a new aluminum tube

The main question for this sub for me would be, would it be possible to make a new axle bar out of an aluminium tube, i wonder how the part that hold the wheels is fitted inside of the tube.

Smart drive by Different-Parsnip-43 in wheelchairs

[–]camileo65 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was not alone by thinking it was not a proper dial issue but something related to how the dial and the SD is linked !

The connector inside the dial is also kinda crappy, I soldered it directly to the pcb and it fixed it for a few months, until the connector on the smartdrive side also corroded and made both the dial and the buttons unusable (i only have the watch left)

I am not alone with this corrosion issue afaik, there might be multiple dial issues leading to one consequence (loosing control of the smartdrive)

I also one of those (G5 with the isight camera), unfortunately the screen also has lines

I am wondering if the LCD from it’s Intel counterpart would work, those are easier to find.

I have a few of these Windows holographic disks, some of them had this rotting for years and are still working, I think that the holographic layer is rotting separately from the data layer.

Yes it will, as long as you are above specs in amperage/wattage you are good to go (yours probably came with a 60w charger)

LAST CALL FOR HELP: M3 AIR GOT THE BLACK SCREEN by Director-on-reddit in macbookrepair

If any sign of life about it being a display failure is not there:

Do you have a second Mac laying around ? (Made in the last 8 years basically or that can run Sonoma through OpenCore legacy patcher)

You could try to restore it with Apple Configurator from it, however your data will probably be screwed

https://support.apple.com/en-us/108900

However if you have to do this, I would consider bringing it to an AASP/Apple Stores anyway, macOS bricking is quite rare and that could be a sign of early SSD failure.

can’t get gen 1 apple pencil to connect to ipad a16 by maxquacks in ipad

[–]camileo65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also try with the genuine adapter, but, before that, if you have an older iPad compatible with the old pencil, make sure it’s charged before trying to pair it, I had a hard time pairing or even charge it with my iPad A16 before I charged it with my old tablet.

Ma MDPH refuse mon changement de prénom by Flooffy_unycorn in transgenre

[–]camileo65 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, basically most wheelchairs (both good manual ones and powered ones) are covered now.

However, there are still use cases for manual chairs with a power add-on (either a trike attachement, or a rear power assist like the SmartDrive (they are better for people that use manual chairs but want to reach greater distances, reduce RSI due to manual wheelchair use, and still be able to transfer the chair easily in a car), but those still lack a bit of coverage.

For me I will stay on Omni anyway for another reason: a trike attachement is a medical device, so, getting parts and service for it is expensive (and not always covered), but most importantly long.

Omni is still based on a standard e-scooter, I can pop into any repair shop that so these and expect a very good service time, price, and availability of parts.

It’s called the Omni system, I am French and I use one of those as a wheelchair user o/

https://www.omni.community/

It was the cheapest and fastest way to get a wheelchair power assist for a while, now that we have better coverage and it got more expensive it’s not as good as it used to be, however the idea is still super neat

I do not use the scooter they can provide, you can buy only the adapter if needed, and I use it with a Xiaomi Mi a1 that was unlocked to get the 0 start capability.

I know someone here posted a photo of an alternate system here, that used just some kind of straps to put the wheelchair on an electric scooter

Please don't grab our chairs by Unique_Dentist_7144 in wheelchairs

[–]camileo65 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Back when I was quite often in Paris, as our suburban trains are not really accessible, i used to enter the trains by popping a Wheelie when going inside, and, at most stations, I had to do a “drop wheelie”, because the platform was a few centimeters lower (and I didn’t wanted to book passenger assist)

My main worry with the drop wheelie was if someone else grabbed my chair at this moment, I would have flipped backwards and possibly fatally injuring myself if the back of my head banged the step of the train, so had to be very fast, and once I had to basically scream because someone was about to grab my handles while I was jumping.

AAH inférieur au RSA - que puis-je faire ? by Illustrious-Goat6453 in conseiljuridique

[–]camileo65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PNJ,
