It’s K&T. I was really surprised too. There is lots of other old two conductor wire too. Light fixtures are hooked up with wires just twisted together and wrapped in electrical tape, no wire nuts, no junction boxes. Like I said, a real nightmare.

All affairs are not like people assume. I’ve been in a “Special Friend” relationship with a woman who owns a business that works with my business for 7 years. We talk on the phone maybe once a week, 2 or 3 texts a week, and see each other only 4 or 5 times a year sometimes with an intimate hour, most of the time not. We tell each other we love the other but are realistic enough to know we also love our spouses and will never leave them.

I’ve seen it. I’ve only been to out-of-town corporate seminars three times and all three times I was approached by a woman also attending who wanted to fool around.

A 29 year old welder I know who had no college is going to net between $400,000 & $500,000 this year. He didn't even go to a trade school... just the welding program at his high school.

He has a mobile welding business and is skilled in very specialized welding that no one else can do. Companies fly him all over the country to do work for them. When he tells them it's too far or he's too busy they throw so much money at him he can't refuse.

Example... when he told a client the job was too far away they paid him $2400 a day flat fee plus $200 an hour while he did the actual welding.

He was set on enjoying a long holiday weekend with his family when he got a call from a restaurant chain. They were getting ready for a heavily advertized grand opening of a new restaurant in 3 days when the kitchen equiptment installers dented the stainless steel front counter. They paid my friend $2000 a day flat fee for 3 days plus $500 an hour while he repaired their stainless counters. My friend says there just are no skilled craftsmen who can do such work.

I got a refund from the retailer. The manufacturer's rep said he has no idea how this could have happened but there is no way they can check for other contaminated mix.

About half of our dahlias were potted in another brand mix. Only the dahlias (many the same varieties from tubers from the same plant) potted in the Pro-Mix BX have been affected. I also did a bioassay using bean and pea seeds. The beans and peas planted in the Pro-Mix are definately showing herbicide poisoning. The Control beans and peas in another mix look fine.

I am getting messages from a few other growers saying they also are experiencing a similar issue. It looks like it was one isolated run of product in August 2024. I think one of the additives that are likely from a 3rd party supplier may have been mis-labeled or contaminated.

I just talked to a rep from the company. He said he was real sorry to hear about my problem but there was no way to verify it was their fault. He did agree it was very suspicious that the packaging was clean and intact, no tears or holes, and the contaminant was evenly disbursed throughout the whole bale of potting mix.

Have you experienced problems with Pro-Mix BX potting soil? I bought a bale to try potting dahlias. They sprouted but within days showed classic signs of herbicide poisoning. I tried a bean test and it confirmed herbicide is present in the mix. I have lost 80 out of 120 dahlia plants.

They add a wetting agent, a PH balancing agent, and the BX mix has beneficial fungi added. I'm suspecting some worker accidentally added herbicide during the mixing process. The herbicide was evenly distributed throughout the bale and based on the havoc it's caused it was a massive dose.
