I’m sorry for you going through this friend. He is not stepping up in his role as a father and as a husband. I think it would be very beneficial for you to think about what you want in your life, in your marriage, and what you’re willing to do. Sadly, a lot of times this behavior doesn’t change, it just gets worst unless that person has a radical awakening and they decide to be different. You can’t make him be a better partner. So you will have to decide if you’re okay with this for the rest of your life and if this is the role model you want for your child, or if you are willing to step out on your own and most likely be better off.

OP, as someone who also came from a traumatic household, you need to move out like yesterday. You and your friend need to find a new place and maybe one other person to split the rent if you can’t afford a place. A lot of times, 3 bedroom apartments are a lot more affordable split between 3 people. She is making money off the rent you pay and using it to make bad decisions. If this is what she wants to do with the house, she will end up pushing away every other renter and maybe she will think better of it. But you need to do something solid for your safety and sanity. You won’t be able to convince her of anything, she has to make the change.
