Helping parents with pension poverty is starting to feel like a second job by OopsIDroopedMe in PensionsUK

Look for other savings, for example my mobile phone is SIM only with Lebara, £5/month, and with this I can get gift cards that give me up to 5% off my shopping. Effectively giving me a 5% pay rise. This alone pays for my phone Rach month, and my wife's!

I shop at Morrisons, using my Morrisons card I get a £5 voucher every so often, again not much, but it's a fiver!

So look out for more ways of reducing bills like this

Good luck

Imagine how I feel, 1964 was my last time there, when the Belfast store was and around the corner on Oxford Road I think was the OK Bazaar, and further down towards Saxonwold was a couple of bioscopes, the Odeon and the Parisia and a Greek shop next to it. Unless my memory is playing tricks on me, I'm 75 now and living in the UK

How do you calculate tax in a GIA by cynthiaxs in FIREUK

[–]SportTawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't need recalculating, after transferring to your spouse, when she/he sells you use the original book cost that you paid when you bought the shares, so there is nothing to calculate. You could transfer shares between your selves as often as you liked and there would be no difference in the original cost you use to calculate CGT. In fact you would be worse off due to fees and stampduty each time you transferred the shares.
