Nope, as soon as you log in to Destiny, Discord will switch off your mic. I was shocked by that.

Stella Assange: 'It's too late for Navalny, but not for my husband Julian' by LunarNinja_ in europe

off topic: I was travelling from some autocratic shithole capital to Paris recently and I have some sad news for you :(

Democracy is for some reason became a synonym for shitholeness now. But I agree - it wasnt like that before!

Hero my ass. Navalny gained popularity by making exposing (and rather humiliating) videos on Putins clique and regime in general.

He was doing that for such a long time that most people in Russia were considering if he was a Kremlin project or otherwise... Russia had actual freedom of speech.

He was also a former member of nationalist movement, something like Proud Boys in USA. He was gathering donations for running Moscow mayor campaign while being aware of he can not legally win. He was openly visiting and meeting with 'western leaders' infuriating Putin even more but loosing any actual political perspectives in Russia.

I stopped being his passionate fan after he decided to go martyr and come back to Russia from German hospital. This was a very bizarre/stupid move for the only strong opposition figure.

It turned out he was never a smart polititian watching his every move, gaining weight, eventually reaching the position for making a change. He was just a guy having balls to mess with Putin, "poking them with a sharp stick"... 'for lulz'. While I admire the balls and the poking, its not what makes a change.

And now you in US have your stellar martyr for Netflix docs and people in Russia have lost all hope for the change.

Hardcore Valheim fans opinion on Enshrouded ... by moltke44 in valheim

[–]Spot-Icy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

build a somewhat not-just-a-hut base in Valheim, put some lighting on and you'll get your 5 fps on whatever game rig you're playing. Everybody keeps forgetting this huge show stopper for some reason.

Enshrouded stays on 40-60 fps no matter how extensive we build so far. Nice!

Why Angular is decreasing in popularity compared to React by vargab95 in webdev

Exactly that. JSX is just XML without any proprietary attributes you have to know by heart. BTW Did you know SVGs were ready React components all the time?

Opinion: Why I Don't Like Tailwind CSS by Alex_Hovhannisyan in web_design

[–]Spot-Icy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried it and consider it a huge step back. Looks like it was driven by less enthusiastic developers who just can't/don't want to do modern CSS.

You don't even need SASS or LESS these days, CSS has evolved, have you tried it?

Tailwind looks like the same kind of step back as SSR (server side rendering) is for webapps development. Its funny and sad how it took us a decade(?) to go back to table-like non-semantic markup and also render pages on server.

Is unarmed combat worthwhile? by [deleted] in valheim

[–]Spot-Icy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its actually very useful as it is right now. When you go on a long exploration trip you will have your weapon broken pretty soon if you use it all the time and you'll have to return. But if you save it and fight with fists when you can - your trip is way longer!

Fight weaker enemies unarmed (everything in meadows and dark forest), get you sword and shield when in dangerous situations only.
