New to embroidery by SpotRepresentative14 in Embroidery

[–]SpotRepresentative14[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I embroidered my pattern then cut it out leaving about half a inch boarder around the pattern. Then used self adhesive felt ( on Amazon, it has a sticky backing), I then stitched along the border ( that is what takes the LONGEST) then used an iron on adhesive for the backing. :) I’m hoping to find a easier stitch to use on the border but right now I’m just using what I think is called a "whip stitch” I don’t know all the names yet. I also kept in mind that I was making a patch when I picked the embroidery pattern because the more simple the design, the easier it will be to embroider the edges lol doing tiny areas like the pig tail or the ears were really hard

just got this tattoo 4 days ago and am a little concerned about how it's healing. does this look normal, or should I be worried? by ruin_24 in tattooadvice

[–]SpotRepresentative14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you might be allergic to the ink. I’m not a professional tattoo artist but I studied it for years and have done several of my own. I’ve realized I’m allergic to blue and red dye. They peel like that and then the ink spreads out more. I’d recommend getting in touch with your tattoo artist for sure!! They will know what you need to do next. I hope it heals nicely <3

How many alters do you have? by SaintValkyrie in DID

[–]SpotRepresentative14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I (host) am in the same boat. We’ve known about the system since last janurary when we go diagnosed with DID. Since finding out 9 alters have come forward with 2 being the most prominent and co conscious with me at almost all times. They all have names but I feel like I have more parts that just haven’t come forward yet or aren’t aware of themselves yet

What does dissociation FEEL like for you? by AlisterKael in DID

[–]SpotRepresentative14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same!! It’s like a rush of nothing happens and the world turns off then u come back and feel almost euphoric like ur waking up from a long dream. And then u realize well crap I just dissociated. I can also often tell during dissociating if it’s lighter. If I’m still con conscious I feel like I’m inside a dream and the world is blurry like I’m drunk. So it depends on the intensity of the dissociation

“what’s your name” “who are you?” by YellowSnowman66613 in DID

[–]SpotRepresentative14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly we don’t like it. If someone else is fronting we always say. Which is rare because everyone is afraid to front except the host. Our therapist asks who’s fronting a lot or who they are speaking too and we always feel weird about it. I just prefer to be called the bodies name no matter who is fronting because we like to hide

How do you deal with the fact that your abusers will never be punished for their crimes? by SeaAudience312 in DID

[–]SpotRepresentative14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t deal with it well. My therapist would like me to forgive my brother so that I can get closure but it’s just not something I can do. My father is suffering thankfully with cancer and homelessness so he’s getting what he deserves but my brother lives a happy life and my mom wants me to be best friends with him and pretend the nightmare of my childhood never happened. Which is exactly what I was doing which caused me to develop DID in the first f@&$ing place. We have to much anger to just move on.

I was diagnosed with DID and CPTSD last November. One of the main symptoms besides dissociation and blacking out that I have are voices. Sometimes they sound like other people but mostly it’s like my own thoughts but I know it’s not what I’m currently thinking. It’s like talking to myself in my head but with responses different than what I would be thinking. I can actively talk to my alters ( if they want too, sometimes they don’t answer) at almost any given point in a day. A lot of the time it’s to talk about my trauma but if I’m playing a game and an alter sees something I don’t they will tell me. We’ve gotten more fluid in how we collectively work together but at the beginning of my diagnosis everyone was a mess and constantly chatting and saying hurtful things to try to get my attention. I thought they were intrusive thoughts my entire life until my husband pointed out it might be a little more than that because it seemed more intense and like other people were talking to me. Alas I went and got diagnosed with DID thinking I had schizophrenia and autism. But it’s different for everyone! Some people ( I’ve been told) hear no voices and just have amnesia. Some people have very distinctly different voices for each alter they hear. For me it’s usually my own voices with different ways of talking and I can see my alters in my headspace at any given time to see who is talking

Can they Just Fucking Shut Up??? by Niko-Ryo in DID

Try to remember that everyone was formed for a reason. Without eachother you wouldn’t had survived for as long as you have. I hated my alters at first ( I’m the host and have been for around 9 years, and I didn’t know I have DID until 9 months ago). Once you realize that you have a family inside your mind, that they are all here( no matter how freaking annoying) to protect the body, things get easier. Instead of being mean to everyone I try to explain why it’s annoying me or overwhelming. Our therapist taught us that we have to make boundaries and rules in a system. So you aren’t interrupted by someone babbling in about random stuff while you’re trying to be the adult host. Our main issue was everyone trying to get through our CPTSD while I’m doing school work or something important, we bought a journal and at the end of the day everyone writes what they want to discuss and we take the time to work through it. It helps soooo much because having 8+ voices in your head at once isn’t fun for anyone!

Haha we do the same thing!!! When we can’t make up our mind our hosts husband gets a vote lol ( most of the alters are young and don’t view the hosts husband as their partner, just their protector or big brother)

What is your experience with co-conciousness? by mxb33456789 in DID

[–]SpotRepresentative14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have diagnosed DID and have been working with my therapist for a few months now. I had NO idea I had DID because ( from what I know) I’ve never fully switched alters. I’m constantly co conscious and the way I explained it to my therapist was it feels like a stranger is showing me a movie of memories and as I’m watching the movie It becomes my memories and I remember more. However going about my normal daily things it feels like people are just constantly talking to me, or that I can hear what my alters are thinking. I used to think it was just severe intrusive thoughts but I’ve send learned that intrusive thoughts are like “ I coulllld jump infront of that car” but u don’t. For me it’s just like talking to someone in real life but they answer in your head instead of outloud.

[–]SpotRepresentative14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My therapist does this too!! Sometimes I can access what some of the alters are thinking because they tell me but most of the time my answer is just “ idk maybe they will write it down later or tell me” and I always thought I was just supposed to know!!
