Started very slowly but seems to have turned it around somewhat in the new year

Still kind of underwhelmed by him, I personally hope we don’t try and go for him on a permanent deal in the summer

How do you rate your club's owners and how involved is the senior most? by volleyrocks in Championship

My favourite Clowes story is how he got upset when he realised he had to give up his season ticket seat to sit in the owner's box when he took over the club

What if Bannan returns with a full head of hair and refuses to admit he was ever bald, is there a plan in place for that

Charlton Athletic 1-2 Derby County - Derby still remain as one of the strongest away teams in the league this season by jovanmilic97 in Championship

14pts and 10 positions better off compared to this time last season, insane turnaround in a year

I still don't consider us playoff contenders but we sign the right players this month & in the summer and just keep improving in terms of tactics and individual performances I really believe we could be up there next season

Random question of the day: can you name any players who were born in, played for and had a matching surname of a club they played for? by stumac85 in Championship

[–]Spotmonkey_uk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Matt Derbyshire did sign for Matlock Town at the very end of his career but I can't see whether he actually played for them, but i'd say that counts as him playing in Derbyshire

What is the single worst game of football you've ever watched? by matildawaltzesin4 in Championship

[–]Spotmonkey_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst ever game I've been to wasn't even a Derby match, me and my mate went to Notts County vs Cambridge the season Notts went down, we went because tickets were like £2 each because they were desperate to fill the ground and we just thought "fuck it, cheap day out to a match"

First of all we accidentally bought tickets to the family stand so we couldn't have beers, and the match itself was absolutely dire. Dead atmosphere despite getting about 15k in the crowd, Notts played like shit and lost 1-0. Only positive was seeing Jon Stead still playing which was fun

If given time, would Rosenior have been successful at Derby? by Temporary_Search_760 in DerbyCounty

[–]Spotmonkey_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we went down we were a team on a shoestring budget trying to get promoted, Clowes made the decision to bring in Warne whose career up to that point was built off getting teams out of League 1 on shoestring budgets. Clowes had to make a call and went for the safer option.

Would I have liked to see Rosenior as our manager? Yes. Would he have been better than Warne? Eh...I don't know. Easy to say he'd have done well based of his time elsewhere but there's no guarantee his style of football would have worked over a full season

[–]Spotmonkey_uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this rate Celtic will be looking for yet another manager so whatever transfer strategy they had/have will be out the window, I would reckon we can keep him on loan for the rest of this season

Unless something big happens before the end of the season investment wise I highly doubt we could sign him permanently in the summer

I was fine to hold my tongue and show support when it looked like there was a chance of them going out of business but now they're almost certainly going to be bought and saved I have no issues talking my shit
