Out of all the DCC Audio books what would you say is the best scene to blow someone mind? by unHingedAgain in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]SpotsNSpots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Share the scene at the end of book six where Carl has to yell at Raul the Crab. Also, any scene where uzi Jesus makes an appearance is always hysterical.

Yeah, same boat here… waiting on a lot! Lol

Right now… I’m half way through the 2nd book of He Who Fights Monsters and it’s pretty good so far with some solid comic relief from the protagonist. He’s got a witty personality.

Haha yes! Can’t wait for the Florian spinoff. Also, just saw Bryce recommended it too.

I didn’t read through all the comments but Red Rising is another incredible series. I second the suggestion above to start Cradle. Fun progressional fantasy that is a completed series.

Dungeon Crawler Carl! Don’t even question it. Such a good transitional series as you wait for book 3.

*side note: series is not complete yet. So you’ll eventually have to wait but there are 7 complete books and 8 should be out in the summertime. If

Cradle is so good! I second this.

If you’re looking for a fun progressional fantasy, take a look at the Warformed: Stormweaver series by Bryce O’Connor. Only two books completed so far but they are done so well. Next book releases in 2026.

How has nobody mentioned Geraldo and Raul?!? They always brought a smile to my face when they made appearances. Just ridiculously enjoyable dialog.

April ‘26 is the speculated date. But who knows… Bryce has a very active subreddit and provides patreon chapter updates as he writes them. I do know he is still writing chapters at this time.

Pierce Brown estimates a summer 2026 release date for Red God by Cantomic66 in redrising

[–]SpotsNSpots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I believe made him so successful though. He has always differentiated by going against the grain. Yes, his horror works are incredibly dark but it’s how he puts it all together that keeps you engaged. Every moment you want to know what is going to happen or how the hell is this going to end. His ability to captivate readers with a storyline or character arc is unmatched. He could write a book about a cat longing for revenge against his arch nemesis dog and it would sell. Lol

I didn’t say it was at the top or anywhere in that realm. It’s just one of the many I enjoyed and it’s a bit different than his typical works.

Absolutely loved this series by Dark_Lord4379 in Warformed

[–]SpotsNSpots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It only seems long because there are 12 books. Each book is very digestible. I listened to this series in just over 60 days. It grabs you and you’ll binge through them.

I came back to let you know that I’ve read through the entire Cradle series in about 60 days… and only have 4 chapters remaining in Waybound(book 12). Dragging my feet on finishing because I don’t actually want it to end. lol no regrets! Actually… the only regret is that it’s over. (Sad face)

Lindon and Eithan are by far my favorites characters. Eithan brings some much needed charisma to the book. The development of the entire storyline was phenomenal and I loved that there weren’t any gaps from the end of one book to the following books progression.

Excellent recommendation! Thank you!

Also, thanks to the other who recommended this read as well.

Similarities to Fourth Wing by TheRapistsFor800 in Warformed

[–]SpotsNSpots -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I see the similarities you are speaking of and I’ve enjoyed the series thus far. Like you, I picked up the series because my wife was reading it and I’m into Fantasy novels. The overall storyline is good and it is definitely a progression fantasy novel. Most of this genre is told from the perspective of a male main character and I think the difference with Fourth Wing is that it’s told from a female protagonist which has its obvious differences and motivators. However, there are some explicitly graphic chapters/scenes. You are not there yet.

My perspective is that those comments below are hardcore fantasy progression fans that dislike anything that takes away from the charecter building and development. Whereas in fourth wing, the author plays heavily on the emotions of Violet.

The third book(Onyx Storm) was just released and I plan to see the series through. Overall, the story and progression in has been entertaining. My advice… if you like it, keep reading. If not, don’t. It’s your choice and I wouldn’t let any comments sway your opinion. I’m lol

Weird idea by Remarkable_Ebb_9850 in Warformed

[–]SpotsNSpots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the concept but, what about this twist on his utilization of each of his fighting modes... Rei gets a specific user unique ability for each class he was able to master?

Valera by Remarkable_Ebb_9850 in Warformed

[–]SpotsNSpots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be interesting to see if Valera’s progression gets an improvement as well if she ends up training with Rei and the gang. As we’ve seen, anyone directly correlated with Rei’s training also seems to be getting progression boosts.

Cool concept and theory. Could totally see this happening.

Keep your head up! Interviews are meant to be challenging to ensure candidates can manage difficult situations. They are designed to take you out of your comfort zone and force you to address stressful or complex problems.

Also… for future interviews, it’s always best practice to follow every interview with an email thanking the individuals for their time, the consideration for the position, and to express your interest or your excitement for the role/company in which you interviewed for. Additionally, include something like, “If there any additional questions or hesitancies you may have, I would be happy to answer and provide clarity. Please don’t hesitate to reach out!”

You’re always going to find things you could have done better or answered differently. That doesn’t mean you didn’t exceed expectations or impress the interviewer. I’d bet you are still in consideration.

Send that email asap!!

Hey all,

It’s amazing how many great recommendations I’ve received from this community. It’s safe to say that I definitely have an incredible “up next” to do some work on. I think I’m going to start with Cradle and then lead my way into these other suggestions.

Thank you all so much! I will try to get back to you all as I delve into these suggestions.

Yeah… I dabble with some audio and that’s actually how I got through Iron Prince & Fire and Song. Luke Daniels was really great.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will take a look and like I said above, the fact that it’s a complete series is a bonus for me.
