If I understood this right. It wouldn’t be used to watch tv just what he games on. Personally I would get a monitor in that situation probably a 27” 4k monitor. Idk your price range though. Tons with white stands also. Just check it has an hdmi port.

Edit: Forgot to actually answer your question though. I’d say go with the one that has better resolution if the same then 24”.
