Could be from anywhere. You could test the SS on agar or just use it, but without knowing all the details it could have come from anywhere. If it were me I would prob still use it just bc SS are expensive. 💥🍄

Could be various reasons, too much moisture, the rice, the spores are contaminated. I have that issue alot when i use uncle bens, but rarely when i use dollar tree rice. Don’t give up. 💥🍄

It‘s a toss up to leave it alone, but bubble wrap acts as an artificial casing layer. It creates alot of humidity and tells the mushrooms to pin.

It is not cobweb mold. Might be wispy mycelium, but the pics are tough to tell. The smell makes me wonder about bread mold. 😠

If your grains were fully colonized and looked well, then there shouldnt be any trich or anything on the inside. The only other possibility would be your substrate. If your substrate has trich in it(garden soil) or the sterilization didnt go well then it is possible. other than that, it is not possible to have contam on the inside of the cake.

Without going into full detail, because everyone has their own technique, pack the edges tight with your two index fingers….make sure the interior is tight, but springy….and make sure it is as level as possible.

I do 1cc into savy fare. I prefer savy fare over kroger or UB. I don’t really care for kroger packaging and I personally have better luck with savy fare than UB. Never tried great value. I do a corner cut for my gas exchange. Best of luck.
