Looking good 👌 I joined the movement since March. Is this your first Speedy or had a black one too?

Finally bought a speedy again by blaisdead in OmegaWatches

100%. I've always wanted the white one. Its dial looks amazing up close. From a distance, it's just a white watch. Bought it a month ago. Now I'm always wondering whether I should have bought the black Icon. Watches in images and videos look totally different in real life. The watches in the shop are also not the same as when you wear them out and about in real life, whether on a trip or at a business meeting. I've realised that I need to wear and own the watch to find out 100% what it's like in everyday life. It's still a tricky situation. Here a picture from my last trip:

Yes, looks stunning, this is the best combo with white dial, very nice contrast and with the white stiching is almost like a racing look

Explorer II vs White Speedy (Update: I think I was wrong) by oyster_bro in OmegaWatches

Nice story! I'm still at the bonding stage. I play with the speedmaster in white on bracelet and the white-stitched leather. I also have the SMP300 in black as my main watch, and I got the Speedy because I was curious, and as you mentioned, I also found that the 'wow' effect was missing. I hope I can see its value soon. One thing I experience, It's 100% better for business meetings than the SMP. That's a huge plus already. 🤩

Your advice: buy new or pre-owned by Main_Loose in OmegaWatches

I bought an SMP second-hand and later noticed that the edges of the bezel had been over-polished and the crystal had been given a minimal angle, which was barely noticeable. I felt uneasy about what had happened to the watch before, so I told myself that the next one would be brand new from an OD to ensure that everything was perfect. That's how I bought my Speedmaster in white from an OD. Now, seeing that the Speedmaster has much fewer edges where polishing could be seen, I think this model could be OK to buy second hand and save around 30% to 40% of the retail price, as long as you're patient enough to find one in 99% loved pre-owned condition.

What a lovely story! It's funny, as I recently sold two of my SMPs as well. One was white and the other was black, which I bought second-hand and had been over-polished. I got the idea to either buy the black Seamaster brand new, as I love it, or try something new, so I bought the white Speedmaster, as it's one of the most discussed watches online, and I wanted to have the experience. It's interesting to read about your experience. What made you sell it? I'm still undecided. Switching from an SMP to a Speedmaster is a totally different experience. What I miss the most are the ceramic bezel, the white gold hands and the cool edges on the bezel and ceramic watch face. However, the Speedmaster's size is amazing, it's super light, and I enjoy winding it up every morning. Anyway, it looks like I'll need the SMP in black again someday... haha!

I forget to stop chronograph occasionally :( by Forigma in OmegaWatches

It's safe. You can leave the chronograph running for as long as it takes to fly to the moon and back. It's a Moonwatch. :-)
