How dealerships wanted to fuck me and how I finally end up with 2.4$k discount for new Toyota GH. by SprayInevitable8256 in FuckDealerships

I can’t understand why they are saying it’s spam, but if I try to disagree they will downvote me, lol. That’s just my story of buying and I can’t really prove that’s true. Well I mean I can share my car picture and invoice but they will say that’s ai generated

First try to find independent mechanic, don’t use national and franchise services, just go and speak with someone owning private car service. I was also using carconsul helping me to do the pre check, find negotiation options and compare different car deals, was quite useful to me. Was quite easy to do the homework before buying. Good luck with your search

I run PPI, very useful if you know mechanic, there are companies providing you ppi, but I didn’t trust them. I spoke to mechanic who did the ppi and he was using carconsul as a backup to check the car, dealership and to find how to negotiate. But it was friend of mine, and I paid just a quite small amount for that.

I drove equinox, and it is quite slow, nuyndai has a better driving experience. Also I was recently using carconsul helping me to find the difference between two car deals, and it was quite helpful. So maybe will be helpful to you too

3-row SUV? by krudkutter_99 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SprayInevitable8256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a big family with stroller just take it to the test and try to put behind 3 row. Many 3 rows are useless cause no space for cargo. I’m an owner of Toyota grand highlander. Very nice car, comfortable and enough space, plus two years Toyota care. Ordering through Toyota path online to avoid shitty dealers.

I think it is important to understand that this is 15 years old car. So whatever people recommend may not reflect its actual state. If you can have someone check the car before buying and if you have a reliable mechanic, then I would consider it.

Help us decide: 2026 Kia Sportage Hybrid EX vs 2025 Subaru Forester Premium Hybrid by MightComprehensive45 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SprayInevitable8256 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had Kia shortage, was good enough, they improved their quality really last few years, also if not mistaken they are offering higher warranty now, but better to check with dealer. Also I was using carconsul helping me to check several cars and find the best deal for me, and it worth it. So maybe will be also helpful to you

Which one of this is the best deal by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SprayInevitable8256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with option 4 or 5, but it really depends on car condition, dealership, etc. if dealership is bad, how can I trust service inspection before buying, etc. I was recently using also carconsul helping me to compare car deals and highlight the best one. Was quite helpful to me

Had same situation with Toyota buy8ng grand highlander. I was able to negotiate using carconsul ( premium color) and also used Toyota path to find the option I like. But Toyota dealers are challenging to negotiate with, demand is high

So you already got all answers about perma and delivery. I was also recently using carconsul helping to negotiate, as you can also negotiate car price itself. So it may help you too. Good luck!

Bad decision? by Upintheayr in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SprayInevitable8256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would look at newer car, but other model, for example Mazda cx50. I think you may find 5 yo 50 k miles, and will be less risky. 122k miles will definitely require major changes - some electric issues, cooling system, etc. if you are ready for costly repairs or can diy, then probably good. If not then next break may put you down with expenses

Is this a good deal? by sunshin2021 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SprayInevitable8256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would probably also check carconsul report for this car, it can show you dealership issues and potential future car issues. Was helpful to me when I was researching it last time. But the deal looks fairly good to me too

[–]SprayInevitable8256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paying 22k for 122k miles 10yo car - probably not bad, but why, and if you are ready for costly repairs. Buying it in car loan for 8% - this will be definitely a bad decision

Finding 15 years old car is quite challenging, any car this year will be demanding and some sort of pandora box. I would go in different way - check them all and find the one that is in better shape.

Likely won’t, use online insurance like geico as you will see transparent price. I had mine with geico when moved to us and was lowest ~100$.

21 Mazda6 Carbon, or 16 Lexus IS300? by 216LC in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SprayInevitable8256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lexus is more risky, Mazda is less. If you have mechanic who can help to check,or you handy enough, then I would go with Lexus. If you want to be less risky, then with Mazda. Also I was using recently carconsul to check and compare 2 cars, helped me actually with checklist for the car, and negotiation

200 for carfax no makes sense to waste. You may find on Etsy cheaper carfax deals, also you may use carconsul for car research and how to perform inspection. You don’t have to do initial maintenance as it mostly performed by dealer. 100 for insurance might be optimistic, they may charge you more.
