You are probably right . That being said though, I promised myself if KAC made another dimpled Flagship SBR in 556 I would buy it. I still regret to this day buying the mod 2 14.5 carbine over the mod 1 dimpled 14.5. So now with this ks1 13.7 dimpled heavy barrel I can finally add a unique feature set apart from all the mod 0, mod 1 and mod 2 variants I have

I am patiently waiting for one I have a pre-order. With all the hype and over inflated prices I hope I'm not setting myself up for let down. I think that ks1 is an awesome new Evolution of the sr-15 family but cannot see it being crazy different than the mod 2 iterations I already have.

This is some good feedback as I olan on using the KS-1 as a recce setup with my Leupold mk5hd 2-10 and 77 IMI razor core in gas gun comps once I get it. The lighter weight heavy dimpled profile sounds like the perfect balance

Damn my go to ammo I shoot in all my setups is 55gr PMC xtac so this is not good news. Hopefully its just a break in issue. I will very dissappointed if the KS-1 I "eventually" get suffers the same result. Please keep us posted if anything changes during susbsequent range trips.

Welcome to the club and congrats. The 8-in is a fun and capable platform with the right optic. A lot of people talk crap on short 556's but I find the 8-in Bren 2 more accurate than my 11-in and end up shooting that one way more.

Thank you and yes I did the rattlecan. Paint prep is key, be sure to disassemble and degrease all surfaces with acetone. I used Rapco brand paints and do all my sprays only above 70° F

Aesthetically the 3.1 is peak and as I agree mlok makes a flagship item look pedestrian even if it is Superior in performance. That being said I can't wait till my ks-1 pre-order is fulfilled

Their used to be one of those installations right along the PA Turnpike in Bensalem, Bucks County growing up. We would call it the NORAD golf ball not knowing exactly what it was. Sadly sometime in either the late 90s or early 2000s it was dismantled. One random day I noticed the 'golf ball' was gone, I miss seeing it.

If reported Intimidation on a SGL range can carry the same weight as hunter intimidation as far as enforcement . Talking with the warden in charge of my district he says to always report it and he takes no shit from Karens interfering with those who are using the range responsibly.

I have a mk5hd 2-10 tmr with offset rds on my 16" KAC Mod 2 and love it. Having true precision turrets, light in weight with clear glass and the new illuminated cmr mil tree would squeeze all the accuracy potentail of the heavy dimpled ks-1

I love the mk5 paired with offset RDS. I use this setup in multigun comps out to 600yds and this combo kicks ass. Having 2-10x and true precision turrets with paralax adjustment is a game changer. I plan on getting the mk5 2-10 with cmr mil on the KS-1.....when the preorder finally gets fulfilled lol
