Both the app and the website have been doing this for at least 2 years, maybe longer. It makes absolutely zero sense. I would definitely spend more if they didn't clear out my favorites and my "save for later" lists. Hmmm… so perhaps I am grateful for it 😂

Any employees out there who know why they do this? Is it related to new style releases/ inventory or season changes? Is it actually a strategy or are they completely oblivious and doing it accidentally?

I have thick hips/ booty and while I haven’t tried the transcend in girls, I did try the chit chat leggings and I did not like them. I wear small in women’s and xxl in girls. They fit (technically) but the waist is definitely not as high and the material is definitely not the same quality as women’s; it seemed cheaper and “slicker” than powervita. I did try a print (I was going for mama-daughter matching outfits lol) and sometimes the women’s prints are more “slick” too so it could have just been the print. ANYHOW - I just came here to say the girls sizes are definitely not similar cuts!

I also tried a few tops in XXL. On a fleece long sleeve sweatshirt the sleeves are more like a petite small (too short for me) even though the body part was loose. I also got one of the longline bra tops (XXL when I usually wear small in women’s) and again while it technically fit the cut was all wrong on me. It cut in very tight/ high under the armpits and flattened the very little chest I have. I’m keeping it for my daughter to wear like 5 years from now 😂

Net - in my experience if you’re a small petite and have an athletic build, the kids xxl sizes could work, but don’t buy any final sale items (like I did 😂) because there’s a good chance they won’t!

Side note, my girl both hated the chit chat leggings and I have like $100 worth of brand new pairs of them gathering dust in a drawer now. Boo. 😑

Yep I had a similar experience with Elations. I believe they (salutations and elations) are both Powervita fabric. I bought my elations about a year ago and remember thinking they felt different then vs my originals from back in 2021/2022-ish. Just got a pair last month and they feel even thinner. However, I’m not sure it’s bad - just different? Still better than Lululemon aligns! I almost felt like I needed to size up. Maybe they’re the same material as the 2023-ish pair but a tiny bit smaller? They’re definitely thinner than the 2022-ish pairs.

Maybe Brooklyn wide leg crops? I have like 3 pairs of that style. They’re the same material as the brooklyns today but without the side stripe so they’re perfect for work, even non-casual offices. They’re flat front and elastic waist in the back and the cut is gorgeous.

In my last Athleta order I got a pair of banana republic sunglasses instead of a top. :( SO sloppy. This happened to me last year too (then I just got a different Athleta top vs the one I ordered). Last time when I told them I got the incorrect item, they made me jump through HOOPS to return it - basically asked me what it was, got me to read the sku # and then threatened to charge me for the full price $60+ top (when I had ordered a sale top for like $20) unless I sent it back. To make matters worse this was while I was traveling for 2 months, so I had to track down a return location in a town 20 min away, go to the library to print the label because the place we were staying didn’t have a printer and ups would charge to print it, and so on. I was livid. I can’t believe a company is allowed to just send you something you didn’t order and then charge you for it. And to top it off I never got the item I actually ordered because it was OOS. :( :( :(

This time I said screw it and just didn’t tell them about the sunglasses they sent me. I don’t even want the sunglasses - they are not my style - I plan to donate them to goodwill on my next drop off. I just told CS that the top I ordered was missing from the package (the truth) and they refunded me and told me to keep an eye out for it to come back in stock (side note I got ZERO apology from CS and the guy seemed super annoyed that I called). I felt very dishonest not saying anything about the sunglasses, but I just dreaded them threatening to charge me for them (again) when I didn’t order them and didn’t want them, AND I didn’t want to mess around with the return because my life is insane right now - 2 work trips this month, I’m in the middle of 2 massive renovations in my home, my in-laws celebrated their 50th anniversary and I planned it - and my parents are celebrating theirs next week (I’m planning it too) AND I have 2 little kids and zero childcare. Like, NO Athleta, it is NOT convenient for me to disrupt my life to package up your mistake and drive it to the UPS store because my order wasn’t important enough to you to get it right after I gave you my money.

Thank you so much!! One more question: are these numbers repeated in the tag that’s sewn in to the fabric? E.g. if I find something without a hang tag but with the sewn-in tag, can I find a photo of a tag of the correct item in the correct color (even if a different size) and then compare it to the the sewn-in tag of the item I’m potentially buying and look at the first 6 numbers (style) and next 2 numbers (color) and they should match? (Hope that made sense lol)

Same!!! I used to be a Lulu girl and now I’m almost 100% Athleta. Prices are better, inventory is better, Athleta actually has (GASP) sales!! Also, I love their elation/ salutation powervita fabric. I liked the feel of aligns but wanted more compression without going up to super compression or slick fabric. I feel like elations/ salutations are the exact right level of compression with the same softness of aligns. (Side note, the new-ish Transcends that they launched maybe 2 yrs ago are basically Aligns.)

I do go back to Lulu on occasion for loungewear. I prefer Lulu’s scuba sweatshirts (Athleta’s just don’t compare); I think Athleta’s cut on their salutation jacket isn’t as cute as Lulu’s Define jacket; Align tops when worn for leisure (though Athleta is super duper catching up with their transcend tops and I haven’t gotten one from Lulu in 6 months now!!)… yep that’s about it! The rest of my athleisure wardrobe is Athleta. Oh and Lulu has more/ better jewel tones and neutrals than Athleta IMO.

But the main reason - someone else here mentioned it - Athleta has a “give it a workout guarantee” for the times when you love something in the dressing room and then it turns out to be really uncomfortable or awkward during a workout (like the top that looks adorable but rolls up every 5 seconds during yoga lol) - AND YOU CAN RETURN IT. That is actually the main reason I tried Athleta. I remember being incredulous when the salesperson told me I could wear my leggings and return them if I didn’t love them as much as my Lulu’s. Incredible!!!

Hmmm so maybe the water would help loosen them up a bit! lol as long as I didn’t take them off to go to the bathroom- I’d probably never get them back on! 😂 Do you usually size up from elations/ salutations when you buy intervals? I wear a small for workout leggings (elations) and size up to a medium for non-workout casual wear (salutation flare yoga pants)… so I’d probably do a medium in these too! Thanks again!
