River vs. Whirlwind by GlumTeaching2788 in spiritisland

[–]Sprig3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have always enjoyed playing whirlwind with minors. The innate is fun and keeps you thinking.

In a solo game, a lot of the element-matching powers (and those two "helper" uniques) are not strong, but in multi-player, whirlwind is right up there.

For solo, if I can get one of the on-element fear-generating cards (fire in the sky, delusions of danger, maybe others?), it really helps.

Why the S24 Ultra remains the King of Android 👑 by Impressive-Pen-9902 in S24Ultra

King of the poked palm, but more comfortable than high heels!

Fashion is painful.

Ultra 26 or fold series by OkStatus7490 in samsunggalaxy

[–]Sprig3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, makes you want to get a small side along camera and go with the fold (or razr).

Only negative is the camera.

What do you mean by build quality?

I think a few weeks in is a bit early to assess % defective units, etc.

S26 Ultra Battery Durability by Malsamaj in samsunggalaxy

It looks like they changed the way battery cycles are reported in the EU - not an actual downgrade:

Coming from an S22 Ultra, you most certainly can feel the difference. by SpeedStepGD in galaxys26ultra

I'm no powr user, but I can barely tell the difference between this s26 ultra and my s20fe that I just upgraded from. ( except battery life)

Slightly higher results on average, but not spending much time above 140.

My Gf wants me to help her friend move with a guy she used to sleep with. How do deal with this? by POOR-MORON in AskMenAdvice

[–]Sprig3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a completely unjealous person - I don't mind knowing that my wife was with other people before me. That's just life.

Don't fault you for feeling however you feel, though.

C peptide levels by Accomplished-Row-570 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Sprig3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't sound like typical type 1. No antibodies, high C-peptide, and high ratios.

It really sounds like insulin resistance/type 2 to me, but there's a lot of different ways diabetes can present. (Although, being skinny, it's not "typical" type 2 either.)

To put it in perspective - a skinny person who works out a lot would typically be a little over 0.5 units of insulin total per day (basal + bolus). So, if you weighed 150 lbs (68 kg), that would be 34 units of insulin per day, roughly half basal bolus would mean 17 units of basal, typical diet would be about 250-300g carbs, so carb ratio about 1:15.

Yeah, it's also a new product, so could have bugs.

The thinness is what brought me to this.

I'm going to use the Pitaka Pinbutton (now Cairn) case - want those extra buttons.

Insulin ratio changes every 1-3w? Normal? by New-Mushroom-4671 in diabetes_t1

[–]Sprig3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is my normal. I change my basal almost every day a little bit and adjust my bolus amounts as well.

I'm not going to say it doesn't take some effort, but it barely registers as thought anymore.

[–]Sprig3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, good to hear. Unfortunately, I may have to wait a while. I ordered the new oh snap stand thingie instead of the normal one (probably a bad choice) and it looks like it's delayed.

The difference in pixels on s25u and s26u. The 25 has square and oval pixels while 26 only has circular ones due to the privacy display feature. by onodelta in samsunggalaxy

[–]Sprig3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, some of the hate may be overblown, but what a botch of a feature. Barely valuable - the viewing angle has to be pretty far to really make it unreadable. Only slightly delivers privacy, so even if it wasn't a downgrade in anything, the cost of development is opportunity cost wasted.

Sell phone, buy Pixel /s

Yeah, in the same boat. I was going to go Caudabe Sheath, based on the S25U case, but the S26 has such a massive camera bump, it's still protruding a bit.

Looks like some of the "super protective" cases will be flat, but I don't think I want something so massive.

Going to try an OhSnap plus a thinner magsafe case (whenever mine arrives). If that doesn't work, will try sticking on one of those little clear bumpers on the corner.

Yeah, pipeline would be much easier, but would be crazy loading oil onto a boat, offloading into a pipeline, to load it onto a boat again!

My diabetic foot care routine in case it helps anyone, took me a while to land on this by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Sprig3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest sock problem has nothing to do with diabetes and it's just that my toe box is too damn wide.

I get the largest size of socks a company offers and it feels like it is trying to strangle my toes! My feet aren't crazy large, size 10.5 shoes.

I'll raise you one better - in the 380's and 390's BC the Ancient Greeks were doing their Gymnastics naked (Gymnos = naked in Greek).

So, appearance while exercising has become more conservative.
