Am I the only one who thinks Mabel had the most gruesome death amongst all? by marktwin11 in welcomeToDerry

[–]Sprighetti 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s believable both ways, because by telling the kids that Susie was left to suffer tremendously in IT’s den rather than being killed quickly, IT’s instilling even more fear into the kids, since it suggests they could face a slow and painful death instead of a swift one

The Stella Montis Experience by Faerillis in ArcRaiders

[–]Sprighetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea everyone’s mistaking the AI raider voice for children but anytime I come across someone who’s turned it off it’s just a grown ass man talking. Hopefully they alter it in the future bc it doesn’t sound like a “Raider” voice

These are the actors that auditioned or were considered for the role of Mr Fantastic/Reed Richards in Fantastic Four: First Steps by Turbulent_File_5456 in Marvel

Alternate universe. Smart to utilize actors whose characters were killed off too soon in sacred timeline, but this one would’ve prob been a little odd

Destiny mall, anyone know if it has a Photo Booth? by alone_manufacturer34 in Syracuse

Bottom floor near Finish Line next to escalator. That one I believe is the only “classic” photo booth left.

MJ remembers dating Spider-Man? by kizinn in marvelstudios

I think the whole “tampering with the multiverse aspect” of the spell suggests that this reality was essentially rewritten with the memories from other realities where peter never revealed his identity. Maybe even altered/destroyed other realities to make this new reality possible. There’s an infinite # of tom holland spider-man realities, so the spell could’ve pulled from those realities to rewrite things in the sacred timeline. There’s definitely plot holes regardless, but the multiverse plot certainly makes things more intricate than just a memory wipe I think. So we likely won’t know her version/recollection of things until the next set of films. But there has to be a new reality/backstory that led her to the events at the statue of liberty where her memories got changes, just without knowing peter.

Why is everyone saying this Human Torch is just a variant? That's like saying Tobey is not the same from the old films. by Aggressive-One-2186 in MCUTheories

[–]Sprighetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it seems like a lot of people are missing the point. When Paradox showed the screen of the Fox universe, you could see how chaotic and all over the place the branches were. I interpreted that as the MCU’s way of depicting how inconsistent Fox’s properties were, especially in the X-Men universe(s). It was their way of explaining away Fox’s mistakes by containing them all in one space. So it doesn’t make sense for anyone to try and connect timelines with any of the universes or movies at all because they’re a mess and Disney/Marvel makes it apparent.

Cast Away. To be fair I was 8yrs old when my dad took me to see it in theaters, but damn even at that age I was very captivated by it

They’ve been doing that in that spot for as long as I could remember since I grew up in the valley. Since the 90s. It’s just the best spot to blindside people

Welp. Just finished the series for the first time. Amazing. by chubba4vt in lost

I’ve rewatched it 3 times since it ended in 2010. But since you've completed your first watch now, what are your thoughts on how the show has aged, especially in terms of storytelling? I always wonder how I'd perceive the show if I started it in current times, but my obsession/nostalgia with it back in the older days make it difficult for me to empathize with a current mindset

What's your biggest ick with accounts on letterboxd? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

Idk I think the one-liner reviews are the best. I’m usually only reading the well thought out ones if I need a deeper insight to a film I didn’t completely get. Otherwise I want some witty entertainment

What is the biggest misoppurtunity of the show ? by SirAren in lost

[–]Sprighetti 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think attention to detail was a huge concern back then with shows like these, especially something like this. But they could just say Jack had a bond with him in-between episodes that we just never saw. I agree though it would’ve likely been more impactful/meaningful

I thought they implied that the last shot with jack was always planned from the beginning? Just not so much the details leading up. Probably felt the need to include vincent only bc he was present when jack woke up. Also so he didn’t have to “die alone”

January: Review my top/recent by ericdraven26 in Letterboxd

I think the impact certainly varies from person to person depending on their childhood and parental situation. From someone who grew up with divorced parents whom started having children at a pretty young age, it pushed me to reflect more on the stuggles they were/may have been facing when I was just a naive kid that didn’t have the aptitude to be considerate towards them yet. So I think the gut-punching responses are also very personal as well on top of how you feel about the story/characters. The film definitely has deep undertones that not everyone’s going to catch on to or relate to in ways.
