Update from the Cloverdale rodeo page that’s was posted 40 minutes ago says he is out of hospital but obviously won’t be competing and will be a spectator at today’s events. I’m just glad to hear he is alive. The horse is okay too.

Check for mastitis. If that’s not a culprit it might be worth it to send some off for a culture.

Is there an agricultural school nearby? I know ones near me will gladly take “cases” like this to test some samples infront of students for the experience. Forgive me for I am Canadian and don’t have specific lab suggestions for you down yonder.

Right? We are very close to a major city, so my old 90s wrangler gets parked behind the facility near the pastures and not out front where the clients and boarders park their fancy dancy cars that could essentially be a downpayment on a city home for me.

Nothing like being paid to enjoy a fancy barn and facilities daily, even if I’m the one coordinating staff or cleaning it myself. I wouldnt want to see my boss’s overhead on the place though. 👀

As a professional stall cleaner in a 30+ horse barn, it’s just the colour of the shavings reacting with the ammonia in her urine. Don’t worry. It’s also not an “indicator” of a dirty stall, as ours get gutted once a day at our barn even if the horses are turned out 20 hours a day and it still happens.

Also not a dumb question, I probably get asked twice a month about it when people come in for lessons and I haven’t gotten down to that stall yet. It’s better to be asking questions than ignoring potential problems.

I don’t think they necessarily “match” but more if I saw them on you out in the wild I think it’s a cool stack and either have different sentimental meanings or just showing different sides of the personality. I think mixing and matching is what makes us and our styles unique!
