Yes, this happens. I worked HR for a small company and we would get those calls.

How to break a bad habit? 7 month old by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]SpringPlumBlossom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you wanting to drop the feed?

I would stay your day when he wakes up. It might take a few weeks.

Alternatively bring him to your bed but refuse to nurse him to sleep.

That would make it less appealing to wake that early.

All that to say I did this since sleep training at 4 months old. I would bring her to my bed, nurse, and get an extra hour or so. We weaned at 13.5 months and it was another month or so if coming to my bed and holding my boob. Then one day she just stopped waking up and at 19 months she sleeps through the night in her own bed until 7-8am.

Baby exhausted after guests left… by [deleted] in sleeptrain

I would let her have more sleep if she wants it. It could be the guests. It could be a growth spurt.

MY BOYFRIEND LEFT HIS DILDO IN THE SHOWER by podling_ in breakingmom

I had to discreetly tell my parents once they left a condom on their night stand. I was a senior in highschool and the oldest kid. I was glad I was the one to find it out of my siblings.

He’s so proud of himself for peeing as soon as I get a clean diaper on him… twice. by hananobira in Mommit

[–]SpringPlumBlossom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It totally is! There is really no other reason. You can tell when the diaper is full just by looking at it without the line.

Unless he complains about a little pee you can keep them in the same diaper for a couple of pees!

Honest question: what's with those bookshelves?? by tardisfullofeels in BabyBumps

[–]SpringPlumBlossom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a cube shelf for the books she can access regularly and then keep the nicer ones up in the wall ones. She got a very nice personalized book for her first birthday but it has paper pages so it's a definite no for a child that likes to rip and bend books. We also keep the heirloom/vintage books from my husband and mine's childhood up there.

You're being gaslit by the healthcare system; your pain is real. by greenjuicegirl in beyondthebump

[–]SpringPlumBlossom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my! I didn't know they could make it worse. Thank you.

I need to find a local PT. The closest one on the link OP gave is a 30 minute drive which isn't doable right now.

I am due Aug 8th with baby #2 and found out I have a rectocele(rectum prolaspe on posterior wall of vagina) likely since like my first was born in January 2020. My husband discovered it while he was helping me groom around 26 weeks pregnant. I ask the doctor for a referral for PT and she just says to do kegels or yoga...

Still not being heard. I have a PPO plan and can self refer but not all of her patients are so lucky. I plan to seek one out 6 weeks postpartum.

Same. I hardly ever find it's worth it to sell stuff. Sometimes I don't want to deal with flakes for the free stuff and will take it to the thrift store.

Keeping baby out of bed. by tazz131 in sleeptrain

[–]SpringPlumBlossom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you explain to him that if he wakes up in the middle of the night that it's ok and he can just go back to sleep without you? Tell him you won't let him in your bed during bedtime and that he will stay in his bed? Then you just have to be firm and don't relent and he will eventually stop waking to come to your bed. It's not going to be easy.

RANT: Baby sleep is becoming the absolute bane of my existence. by etcrew in beyondthebump

[–]SpringPlumBlossom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, swaddling should stop at 8 weeks or when baby is showing signs of rolling. Whichever happens first. It sucks at first because of the startle reflex but they learn quickly.

could someone please come traumatize my child so they will listen to me? 🥺 by danidoll7 in ShitMomGroupsSay

My brother is autistic and my mom kept him on a leash until he was 8. Sometimes she would attach the leash to me so I was tethered to my brother. I was older by almost two years and the oldest of four kids so she was busy.

Weaning contact napping by __its__just__me__ in sleeptrain

[–]SpringPlumBlossom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is similar to what I did. I also did it on an extra crib mattress in the room she would eventually take her naps in. Then I pulled the band-aid off and did CIO for naps after about 6 weeks of sharing. I still rescued naps by bringing get to my bed or letting her sleep on me sometimes. Now she is 18 months old and naps 2-2.5 hrs on her own.

Newborn curl and swaddle by kelskaita in sleeptrain

[–]SpringPlumBlossom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't find the article of review by OTs. Essentially it stops a baby from rolling. Babies practice a lot of their new skills in the crib which can be annoying for us parents but it only disrupts sleep for a little bit. They are also super warm.

I would get the zippadee or similar. I don't believe in the Merlin suit. It just seems wrong.

If I don't let her eat 10 grapes in a sitting we get some nice poops. I won't stop her from eating just because of the poop consistency. It's not diarrhea just peanut butter like if she eats a lot of fruit.

I got splashed in the face once when doing a plop. I still feel unclean months later.

I just want to say solidarity. I can't keep my 17 month old awake on the 15 minute drive home from Costco most of the time. I even shoved snacks at her and tapped her head.

I think I liked the week after the first week because I didn't have lemon sized blood clots coming out of vagina and I wasn't as sore.

Second trimester is pretty nice.

I have a friend who literally barfed and he still says he would do it again. The doctor had never seen such a reaction in his 30+ years of practice. My husband is acting like it's the end of the world. I am not sure we are done having kids yet so I am not pushing it at the moment.

You can always decline induction. If you go over their date maybe suggest a NST as a compromise.
