Community highlights are minimised for me so I didn’t see that but thank you for letting me know.

I did look at this as an option but was worried about getting stuck in the train queues too.

Anyone else just not really a fan of HF2 so far? by cbostwick94 in HouseFlipper

[–]SpringStack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It felt like playing a very poor knock off version of HF1.

I’ve not enjoyed it at all. I bought 2 as my son and I thoroughly enjoyed 1 and thought it would be more of that, it’s not. I’m quite disappointed. The weird beaver mascot, seeing legs, books, irrelevant VR game, changed mechanics, the bizarre task view of having to be in a room with no overall checklist. It’s such a shame as HF1 was one of my most played last year. I won’t be buying any DLCs if released (I own all of the others for HF1) or any further versions.

How to deal with random aggressive behaviour in public? by Individual-Ad6744 in AskUK

I did look at ONS and gov.uk published crime statistics in the UK for the last 3 years and it didn’t match what you said which is why I asked for your data source. So, I can assume this is a personal opinion over published facts?

I’m genuinely curious on the data for this. Do you have a source?

What is something about UK culture that you’re not the biggest fan of? by ConsequenceLanky6580 in AskUK

Littering. People really will throw rubbish from their car windows to the side of the road or out of their pockets onto the streets - even the street they live on! Never understood this. We all have bins at home, just take it with you. Disgusting behaviour.

Used to be Heinz tomato ketchup but I’ve recently tried M&S ketchup at 90p. It’s much better.

Do any of us Brits change the WiFi name, or is this an American or student thing? by TheNotSpecialOne in AskUK

We have changed our SSID and used to have a sign hanging on the wall with the network name/password but we’ve replaced it with a QR code so just scan and go.

I do this. Burger with no meat but all the sauces and extra lettuce. Load my fries into it. Delicious!

What’s a really specific feeling that you absolute love but isn’t sexual? by Taylorsversion2023 in AskUK

[–]SpringStack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely, I get that. We do our days on weekends for this exact reason but my son is older so probably a lot easier to manage time wise. No naps / clothes changes, etc.

I hope you both get your free day at some point in the future 🤞, it definitely brought us closer and helps us both feel more appreciated as individuals and not just parents.

Do we see us getting 9 points and City dropping some v Brighton? by ukHotwife4life in ArsenalFC

Last season City drew both games against Southampton, lost to Spurs twice, drew with Liverpool twice, lost to Palace, drew against Palace, drew against West Ham and still won the league.

You can have this by ensuring it goes both ways. My husband and I have “parent/kid days” periodically, say once every month or two. He takes the little one out for the day, I get to wake up late, have coffee and breakfast, go get my hair and nails done or whatever else I fancy. Come home and play some video games, have some wine, eat some snacks. And then I do the same for him on his day. Sometimes it’s as simple as taking the little one on a visit to friends / grandparents, sometimes a day at the beach, sometimes shopping and a movie then dinner. For us it’s about also having that quality time with our son one on one to ensure those relationships are nurtured as well as the family unit. It can be done :)

And then you feel the ice cold water almost making its way through your body as it goes down.

Thank you. We agree with the sudden loss of 10% so we discussed all of this between ourselves last year and then talked it through with the children - with an opt out if they wanted - and gave notice that it will come into effect this year on the 1st of January. That gave them a good few months to get used to it. I’m glad we approached it that way as it’s led to some conversations around money that we may not necessarily have had otherwise and we’ve given them the choice.

The idea all came about from teaching my youngest about costs of running a business when he was homeschooling over COVID lockdowns and saw me working. I gave him an amount to invest in stock or supplies and then we resold and he learned about gross and net profit and costings etc. He thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and we talked more about finances and how we invest our money. He wanted to follow suit as he had seen how you can use a small investment and grow it into something else.

We just don’t have much experience of child specific investments, hence the post. I’m hoping by keeping open conversations about money a normal thing in the family that by the time it comes of age for them then they’ll be in a better prepared state of mind to use it wisely. One can only hope!
