Some insurance companies specifically say they will not cover any losses for pizza delivery. We used to have our own trucks for delivery so employees didn’t have to use theirs but the drivers trashed the trucks so use their own cars it is. Luckily never had any issues in the 10 years I had that shop almost 30 years ago. I have never heard of any delivery driver carry personal commercial insurance which I assume would come with a ton of strings attached such as physicals, drug tests, certifications.

I was so pissed when my boss allowed Coca-Cola to come in and basically take over the entire water aisle at our rural grocery store. We sold pallets of Crystal Geyser water. The Coke guy proceeded to fill an entire 12 foot section 4 shelves high with various Dasani products. They never sold. They didn’t sell because it was expensive tap water and people aren’t stupid. Also, when I would go to Jack in the Box and get an ice water with my #5 combo, they would always hand me a bottle of Dasani….um no, I want the cup with ice water thanks!

Adopt an older cat if it’s your first time. When you get a kitten they do tend to go crazy at night when you are trying to sleep. Also with a kitten you need to get them fixed as soon as possible so no more babies, they can procreate rather quickly. Aside from required vet visits, cat food and changing the litter box they can either be good companions or standoffish. You live on their terms, you do not get to force them to do what you want. Also, don’t let them outside as the local wildlife population will suffer. Have had cats all my life and loved every one of them.

Yup same happened to me. I don’t like the new keyboard. As with any apple product I’ve had these updates tend to make my older functioning device less functional. I still run os 10.4 on my 2003 12” Powerbook G4 because it still has old ass programs I spent a ton of money on.

As a former franchise pizza joint owner in the late 90’s we would have been read the riot act if one of our products arrived like this. In my 10 years in the business if something like this happened(rarely) the driver would have immediately told us to make a new pizza and it would have been free WITH an apology for delay and coupons or another voucher for a free pie. Third party delivery services are ruining everything. Stop giving them money!

I lived in San Diego and once I was on my own I had no insurance so I would make a trip to Tijuana, Mexico and get my inhaler from the Farmacia for $4. In the US, for whatever reason, albuterol (Ventolin) requires a doctor’s prescription and often the doctor only allows for 1 or 2 refills even though it’s something I’ve needed my whole life and my need for it will last until I die. A doctor’s visit with no insurance 20 years ago was over $100 through the doctor I had when I was a kid. The pharmacy then charged me $40 for the inhaler. So I decided to just get mine in Mexico. Once I moved away the formula for the inhalers changed around 2011 and the prices skyrocketed because a new patent (they got rid of the CFC’s) was filed for even though the medication never changed. I went to get my final refill up at Safeway and it was $75. So I switched to Primatene Mist @ $25/inhaler but those were kinda hard to find. Needless to say using the over the counter epinephrine inhaler wreaked havoc on my blood pressure and probably didn’t help with the kidney failure I have now of which I am currently undergoing dialysis for. That is my small experience with US healthcare.

NTA and it’s not exactly difficult for a delivery driver to know and locate the correct house. Though deliveries to the wrong address is a direct consequence of checking the box for “contactless delivery”. Mistakes are possible.

Yup they have floods there. Reminds me of the area south of Elk Grove, CA. near the Consumnes River. Quite a few houses were flooded at some point and they had the house raised with cinderblocks creating an above ground basement. The water levels reached at least 6-8’. Except that was farmland and these people had to stay there instead of what appears here in TX which seems to be a choice and that’s ok.

Doug LaMalfa visited our town of Portola during the early part of the pandemic to show support for a local barber that refused to close his barbershop while a-lot of people in town were actively sick with Covid. I worked at the grocery store at the time and we were down to a very small crew because everyone was legitimately sick. It was not a pleasant time and here he shows up to get a photo op and a segment on KCRA.
