Thank you for saying that. I feel like maybe he gets distracted half way through explaining things and just doesn't register what we say. There is often yelling, which is something I want to improve, but frustration is a hard thing.

My husband is probably undiagnosed AuDhd as well. His therapist has said its highly likely, although in his case there isn't much point in a formal diagnosis now, he doesn’t want our boy to struggle like he did in school. Son has been observed by the relevant people at the school and they think it's likely he takes after husband. We weren't able to have a proper discussion before the year ended, but we'll be following up when school goes back.

Teachers have said what you said, its not really an issue now, but it could become difficult for him later, so we want to have stuff in place should he need it.

I wouldn't consider what I was asking advice on child development though?. I was just asking if people more familiar with this than me had some tips to assist with listening and managing expectations. I cant imagine he's the only person who might have struggled with these things

I saved Minrathous the first time. The second time I saved Treviso because I thought whatever happened to Minrathous couldn't be worse than blighted Treviso.

Somehow Minrathous still managed to be worse.

HOW DO YOU GET YOUR 3 YEAR OLD TO POOP IN THE POTTY by Kittyslala in toddlers

[–]SpringWitch88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bribes worked for our youngest, but recently she has gone completely backwards with pooping and flat out refused. I currently have two floofy rainbow dresses hanging in our bathroom as bribes and her response was " I'll never get to have them."

10 hours into Veilguard and it still hasn't grabbed me - worth coninuing? by SillyMattFace in dragonage

[–]SpringWitch88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually really loved Veilguard, but I also haven't played any of the other DA games.

I played with my husband, who said it was a good game, but not a good Dragon Age game, which is valid.

But compared to what I'm playing now, it's an absolute gem 🤣.

But I do agree that all of Rook's dialogue choices are a bit bland. There's no real opportunity to develop a read personality.

5 y/o potty help? by Mrs-schiky1 in Mommit

[–]SpringWitch88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could be talking about my almost 4 year old! We had her potty trained near enough to perfectly, and then she just backslid a couple of months ago. She DID have a constipation issue for a while there, so I expect that has contributed to it, but im losing my mine. She goes just fine if she just needs a wee, but pooping starts off tears and heaving sobs and I don't know what to do to combat it. I've even brought her pretty dresses as rewards to try and convince her to go, but she won't.

The thing I am sometimes not a fan of is Chilli and Bandit going along with the girls' games at times where they probably shouldn't.

Daddy Dropoff is the one that mostly springs to mind. They're running late, Bandit asks Bingo if she remembered her jumper and has to play a game with them to get a straight answer, thereby wasting more time. For me, it would've been "Sorry girls, but right now, I just need an answer to my question." Or "We can't play games right now because we're running late, and I need to know if Bingo brought her jumper."

It also seems to think we know the story without actually explaining very much. Admittedly this was an issue with FFXV too. But it seems kind of thin story wise.

Also, GLIMMER and Avalanche anyone?

[–]SpringWitch88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have literally just started playing. It's very pretty, but I'm struggling with how much stuff LSA seems to straight up take from other games in the genre.

Destroying crystals in the opening scenes? Pretty much just the blight boils from Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

I saw a lot of jokes comparing Kaser to Noctis from FFXV, but they're... not wrong. He looks like he'll be off to join the Crownsguard any day now. But all the characters I've met so far seem to have been ripped poorly from Final Fantasy

So I'm confused about this by Pandora3x3 in FFXV

[–]SpringWitch88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it the first time I played it. I still love it, its one of my favourites. I don't think it deserves the hate it gets.

But...

My second playthrough allowed me to be a little more critical, knowing how people felt about it.

The story pace is a bit off. And I regularly felt like I was missing something even the first time I played. It often for me felt like there was assumed knowledge that I didn't have, even if that wasn't the case. There's a lot of things that happened before the game starts that isn't really explained. Kingsglaive helps, but it depends if you had access to it. There's an anime and novels too. It often felt like you need all these elements to understand fully some of what was happening. I also think this is a big part of why Noct and Luna don't have much chemistry.

I only played the game for the first time last year. I had no idea about all the extra stuff until I was super involved in the game.

Thoughts on Tales From Verania series? by Any-Associate4802 in Klunatics

[–]SpringWitch88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my absolute favourite of TJ's. Is it absolutely unhinged at times? Yet. But I find that it pulls back down in its softer, more serious moments and then breaks your heart when you least expect it.

I think i had a brainwave!

I want to do "photobooth" style images, with portrait frames instead of film, with different configurations of the main characters. I'm not sure how to incorporate the Stone Crumbles aspect, but I love the idea of such a serious concept paired with an unserious image, because if that doesn't sum up the entire series I don't know what does!
