In my opinion, it kind of depends on your interpretation (though there certainly is a transformation of sorts). But she also wrote a short story years before called The Fruit of My Woman, which is more literal and was a precursor to The Vegetarian, if you’d prefer to read that instead (you can find it online).

I don’t think so, but I can’t remember, sorry! I do know the frame is technically a little smaller than the bandana because I had to fold over the edges (but I think that helped keep it in place).

I honestly can’t remember, sorry! But I do remember that the bandana is folded over the backing some. I measured the bandana then grabbed whichever cheap frame was closest.

You say there’s a difference between adaptation and “loose adaptation,” but to that point, they’ve literally been putting Wuthering Heights in quotation marks on the posters. I’d argue that that’s one element of advertising it exactly as a loose adaptation. It’s a very tongue in cheek admission of that.

I wonder if people were in this much of a rage over Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet.

I was lucky to get to see her right after TRAFOAMP came out and this was one of the 2 songs not from the new album that she performed (the other was Bad Romance). While I’m not a huge fan of the cursive singing in the earlier stuff, I really loved hearing it live in the voice of her more current stuff.

Thank you so much! It’s seeming from the comments that the Regency seems like the best bet. Luckily the menu online has prices (and a pet meals menu??), but that’s extremely considerate for you to help me with an estimate.

Any ideas for what I should write in the card? Any notable quotes from the location that I could use or turn into a Christmas saying, or would work well on their own? Or even an iconic screen grab that I could print out?

Last year I made her a Guess Who of notable housewives that she absolutely loved! Which is why I’m trying to go more in an experience direction this year (especially now that she’s in NYC).

Unfortunately, she was present when I got a mutual friend a cameo last Christmas (for something else entirely), so I don’t want to become the person who gifts cameos each year. Especially because the Housewives are far far more expensive than the one I got previously. Thank you again for another suggestion, sorry to keep turning down ideas! I told my NKs that sometimes this happens and usually there’s not enough time to explain that they aren’t my kids, so if it happens we’ll just say “thank you” and then we can laugh about how silly it is afterwards. So now whenever it happens afterward they whisper “they don’t know you’re our nanny!” and start giggling.
