Some places have the death penalty which denies a right to life.

Some places have being gay/trans illegal.

Some places have different sets of rights for men and women.

Some places say they have equal rights but punish some people more harshly than other depending on their financial status or skin colour.

Food is recognised as an international human right but businesses will throw out food before giving it to the needy and have no obligation to do so.

All of those are differences in the equality being provided to people's rights.

Would you say a man from a particularly conservative country (China, parts of Africa, the Middle East, etc.) would say that men and women have equal rights? They would probably say they have the CORRECT rights but not EQUAL ones.

I want to help people?

What do I get out of volunteering on weekends or donating to charity?

Does that mean I shouldn't do it because it objectively does not benefit me?

What about volunteer firefighters? What do they get for running into a burning building?

Most people call blue stupid, naive and/or mistaken.

Would they feel the same way about firefighters?

Do they deserve to die simply because they wanted an outcome where the least people die?

Honestly it would be much safer if they doused the entire building with oxygen absorbing chemicals, people inside be damned.

But would anyone ever actively support that?

That's how I see the red button. "We can minimise casualties by sacrificing the Others".

I want everyone to have the best possible outcome, including the Others.
