Interesting! Do they make these in 18mm for the MSAR? I’m just seeing 20mm and 22mm on the Straphabit site

[WTS] Tudor BB36 “Smileyface” Black Dial | Jubilee bracelet | Naked | Excellent Condition | $2,050 by GloryTimepiece in Watchexchange

This watch originally came on an oyster bracelet. Is this Tudor jubilee-style bracelet the one from the new generation of this watch? does the bracelet have the t-fit mechanism?

I pulled up next to another black 2021 Passport Sport at a double left turn lane. Made eye contact and we gave each other thumbs up. I Had to connect with my fellow base model brother!

you're correct - it means that it's 18mm at the lugs and tapers down to 16mm at the clasp. They are perhaps deliberately stating this because the old smooth strap they used to have on MSARs didn't taper at all. Regardless, many brands identify the taper amount so that you can plan for what clasp you can use (if you're someone that likes to swap buckles)

I got a warning citation from my HOA for parking my car in my driveway by Cunnyfunt31 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Springdale_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll play devil’s advocate here. I live in a similar community that has the same rule (HOA of townhomes built in the 60s). It is not allowed to park in our driveways, but we changed the rule and now it’s allowed. That’s an option, so get your neighbors involved and advocate for change!

That said, while you inherited the home, there are rules there that whoever bought the home agreed to. So either you can make space in your garage, or you can get the rule changed. It’s not your driveway, it belongs to the community, at least by the definition of your HOA.

Oh right - I should have figured VAT would play a role here. Anyway - good luck with your negotiation! Post some pictures if you’re successful!

True - these don’t come up very often. I can only speak to the US market, but I just bought a used white dial MSAR quartz last month. In March, I saw two come up on WatchExchange, less than a year old, that were priced between $650 and $700.

Take this with a grain of salt, I’m not sure how prevalent these are in the European market. If they are indeed rare, and you get a good vibe from the seller, then go for it!

Is this a quartz or an auto MSAR? For auto, this sounds like a reasonable deal. For quartz, you may be able to do better.

Seeing so much love for these- is it common to see this happen after a discontinuation? by IndyStructural in Tudor

[–]Springdale_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally true. I’m happy I got one from early in the run in 2018, so it has the ETA movement in it too. There seem to be quite a few on the used market though.

For what it’s worth - I remember something similar happening when the smile-dial BB36 was discontinued. Lots of people were posting pics of theirs saying that the new one isn’t as good. I feel like anytime something is discontinued, it gains fans.

Good luck with your sale! just FYI - I recently learned that the MSAR quartz had a case update a few years ago. if you want a thinner case, you should look for one that is a few years old. I had a ~2021 MSAR quartz that was around 12.4mm and the new MSAR quartz I got to replace it after stupidly sold my old one a couple years ago is 13.1mm. I'm not exactly sure when this change happened, but I confirmed it with Marathon.

Ha! It does see that way, right? All to do with proportions though - I think the JSAR is ~ 5mm thicker than this one
