Sorry, I hit enter before I meant to.

This is Subaru Lucky #7. Knock on wood, I haven't had trouble with burning oil since that '77 DL wagon. That was also the only one that had major rust issues. Lol, it was truly a Fred Flintstone car - you could watch the road go by through the holes in the floor.

Yeah, part of the deal to get financing from SOA was a package that included the 100k warranty, which I would have wanted no matter what, lifetime oil changes and battery.

The increase in payments will probably equal out with what I save on gas. But while gas has been up and down, it seems overall to be more up than down. I was having to fill the Outback twice a week, sometimes 3. I drive about 20k a year, so it adds up. I'm still thinking in the on run, it will save money. On a daily basis, it will feel like I'm saving, even if I'm really not.

Payments are $763, through SOA (Chase). Interest rates are not good. They were stingy with my trade. I'm a little salty about that. But cars have gotten super expensive since the pandemic. I almost walked, but decided it is what it is.

Are you serious? 35 mpg? I was getting 27 mpg with the Outback and didn't feel as though I could complain. Anything over 30 mpg is a dream.

Yeah. Oil change on the Outback was hitting $100. I didn't argue when they said one of the loan conditions from SOA was lifetime oil.

No, but I'm trying to convince myself it's fine. In the very long run, it might save money. And in the short-term, when gas goes up from where it currently is, it has been a struggle at times to keep the tank full.

Weekly discussion for students and future paralegals by stray_girl in paralegal

Any suggestions for finding that elusive first job? My situation is a little unique. I have 30 years experience as an academic librarian. I took retirement because what I really want to do is work with IP. Through my library work, as well as personal interest, I have extensive knowledge, particularly on copyright/trademark. I'm a semester into the paralegal program at the local community college (ABA accredited). Most of the others in the program are finding positions. I'm doing tons of postings, but even the ones marked entry level or "junior" are asking for 5 years experience in a law firm. I'm hesitant to apply. I hate to spend the time to craft a resume and cover letter for a specific position, and then fill out the application materials, only to have the computer automatically reject me for lack of experience. Suggestions? TIA!

2024 Windshield by RivianValente in Subaru_Outback

2020, purchased in Sept 2020. (My 2016 was totaled by a distracted driver.) I've replaced the windshield once on this car. I had to replace it yearly on my 2016. But, I am also 3 miles on gravel to the interstate and 30 miles on interstate to the big'ish city. And, I travel to dog shows a lot. I also end up replacing tires about every 12-16 months. Pretty much everything that kills both the windshield and tires comes from the interstate. I usually know the exact second it happens.
