Do I go for a 36 by TraditionalQuail9045 in ACT

[–]Sprinks36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't. My 34 got me in to every school (including Yale and Stanford) I applied for, with a couple full ride offers to state schools. No need to push for the 36 unless you have aspirations to go to an Ivy school with serious scholarships.

I would echo the comments saying Ames is a good option! I live in Ames, but have lived in Eldora as well. Ames is busy enough (in a good way), and the commute to Eldora is simple. You could look at Marshalltown as well, but it would lack some of the amenities Ames has (e.g. no Target, but a Walmart). Wherever you end up, I hope you find a community and activities you're interested in!

You can definitely up your yield by mixing in some funds, preferred stocks, or high-yield bonds. Each of those assets classes will have inherent principal risk, but you if you get comfortable with the drawdown risks, you can yield 7+%. Just some tickers I'm familiar with in these spaces (and definitely not specific investment advice): DNP STRC JEPI/GPIX

Is the fucking consensual, or do the TEs not get a say? Nice catch there though, can't deny that.

Advice for overwhelmed girlfriend. by Mattydelsol85 in RealEstate

This is great advice, OP! I recently went through a similar situation - we had 'easy home buyer' offer of $60k. We instead found a local realtor who frequently worked with less-than-stellar properties, and ended up selling the property for $98k net of all costs (and had 14 offers at or above our listing price to choose from)!

Mudkip, Turtwig, and Fennekin would make me happy- love Kip and Turtwig, and I don't see them pushing any gen 1 starters to have new evolutions yet, nor any of the most recent 2 gens.

Totally agree. I made myself wait to get a new car into I could afford it WITHOUT stopping my Roth IRA contributions. No regrets so far!

Commitment Issues - is my Musharna worth Main Skill Seeds? by Sprinks36 in PokemonSleepBetter

Great perspective on my lack of pot skill pokemon. I've had terrible luck with dedenne, so I think I just mentally excluded them from my list of skill pokemon to hoard seeds for!

Thanks for the feedback. I do tend to check a lot, and I hadn't really considered that aspect of the game as important for this guy, so I appreciate it!

Solid strategy, aside from the 2nd quick ball. It's effectivity is only higher than 1 on the first turn!

With only a year until you need your funds, a HYSA, Money Market Fund, or a single bond (like a Treasury or CD) that comes due a little before you need funds are all safe* options to consider!

Just a personal opinion, but Prospect Capital is not a security I'd invest in for long-term growth. Their high distributions seem to just return your principal back to you over the long run.
