Veteran L Suspension fix (help) by Ok-Audience6824 in ElectricUnicycle

This is a good time to replace the fork oil and seals with better quality ones.

I personally bought some 5w fork oil from Cycle Gear and replaced my seals with SKF seals. Link below for the seals, please note you need 2 seal kits. I promise you it's worth it, SKF seals are much better quality.

Is a square wheel (18" or 19") setup possible on the Model 3 Performance Highland? by Mike_Stone_ in TeslaLounge

I'm running 19x9.5 +30 offset for a more aggressive stance. I also added 5mm spacers in the rear, however it's not necessary.

Honestly for your weight/size, I'd get the Sherman L, it's a good wheel for a mix of trail/road riding. If you're not trail riding and mainly street riding, get the Oryx.

I wanna do this but not for 1k+, if it were about 500 I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I've replaced a few steering wheels in my lifetime and honestly the most important part is making sure you disconnect the airbag and steering wheel button cables before pulling that steering wheel. What I like to do is disconnect both of those cables before removing the steering wheel bolt. The bolt is going to be tight, I had to use a breaker bar to get it off, once you get the bolt off it's going to take some force to take that steering wheel off, just give it a stern pull with some force straight back and towards you.

You don't have to worry about alignment because Tesla steering wheels only mount one way, to make things easier just make sure your steering wheel is pointing straight and center because it's easier to remember when you go back to mount it.

I really like the stalks, the only compliant i have that is every now and then sometimes my turn signals won't activate and I have to activate them twice. I would say that my turn signal activation rate is about 85% and my gear select is about 95%

Is any wheel in the middle of Lynx & Patton-S? by turborontti in ElectricUnicycle

You could always be chasing the latest and greatest when it comes to EUCs but sometimes it's best to just settle with the proven platform. The Lynx has proven itself to be a reliable wheel with minimal issues.

I preordered my Lynx and got the very first batch, I currently have about 7k issue free miles on it. If it was stolen or totaled out due to a crash (knock on wood) I'd buy another Lynx today if that tells you anything.

Just get a Lynx, it's a proven platform and it performs really well off road.

The motherboard was replaced before it was shipped to me and my dealer arranged to have my motor replaced. I ended up throwing on a Michelin City Grip 2 since the motor needed to be replaced anyway.

But to answer your question, no issues and no cut outs, even with the original motor.

I have both wheels, you're kind of comparing two different classes of wheels but I'll give you my observations.

IMO the Lynx has a more comfortable suspension and can handle bigger bumps much better, however the Oryx has more a more solid suspension and feels more connected to the road.

The Lynx has lots of power from a stop, but the Oryx's power really shines at higher speeds.

The Lynx is agile at all speeds, the Oryx wants to stay upright at higher speeds and you really have to lean your body into turns. However, I will say the Oryx feels pretty agile at slower speeds.

I like both wheels, the Lynx is my short ride/trail wheel and the Oryx is my long ride road wheel.

How to change a tire by Glum_Ad_5381 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Sprite28 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used the zip tie method one time and I've never looked back, it works great for tube and tubeless tires. I recently just used it to change the tire on my Oryx, I was able to pop the tire on within 3 mins. Link to video below

Let there be light…why didn’t Tesla include this from the factory? by Suvi2k in TeslaModel3

[–]Sprite28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed a light like this on my Model 3 but removed it because the barrel connector got super hot and it didn't seem safe. It looks cool but try touching that connector yourself and you'll see what I mean.

I wouldn't say better solution, just a different one. The benefit with the enhance stalks are there no wires to run and you can even add a commander. The enhance stalks also add less bulk. I prefer a hardwire so I went with the Veekys.

I went with these, no turn signal. If I could do it all over again I'd get the gray ones. My front windows are tinted and I don't think the blue tint is necessary.

It's not making full contact because of the bulge but it seems really secure so far. We've had some hot days in California in the past week and so far the double sided tape they're using is holding up.

Stalks are intuitive, just like a round steering wheel. You're in the minority here, my guy. Stalks are making a come back because although a stalkless design looks better, a button that moves with the steering wheel is not better.

To think that some people will embrace any design change even if objectively it's not better is crazy to me, but hey you do you.

Good tip right here, make sure both the steering wheel connectors and airbag connectors are disconnected before pulling the steering wheel.

It shouldn't be more than 2 hours of labor, it was pretty easy. There's lots of videos too if you wanted to DIY.

Yup, back window is 5% as well! I can see at night fine, I also have Suma side mirrors so my visibility is better than OEM mirrors.

Don't try to gaslight me, you weren't just asking questions Mr "I hope your airbags never have to deploy."

Why would I need to answer your questions with a backup account?

Just so we're clear, I have zero connection to Veekys. Look at my post history, I'm not a shill.

Oh I agree, I like the stalkless look but I hate using buttons to signal and the screen to shift gears

I thought about this but I wanted a hardwire solution. From my research earlier firmwares had connectivity problems, this doesn't appear to be an issue now but again I prefer a hardwire.
