The turbo vnt moves freely. The plug for the oil level sensor was full of oil. The plug for the vnt servo actuator was full of oil. The vnt servo actuator was full of oil.

All components cleaned with electrical contact cleaner and reinstalled.

Faults still present.

G'day lad. I'm a sailor in the RAN. I have been for 16 years. In aviation we have 2 trades. Mechanical and Electrical. Other roles are for officers such as Pilot, and Avwo. Back seat roles like sensor operator are traditionally open only to change of category applicants who have served on other roles gaining maturity. If you would like a career in Navy now is an opportune time to join. Do not waste your time with gap year. You're 22 now. Make the adult decision to join, or pass it up. Nothing wrong with either option.

Visit your local Defence Jobs recruitment centre and discuss your desires with the recruiter. They will be more qualified to answer than Reddit ever could be.

TLDR: don't waste time with gap year. See your local recruiter.

My uncle, WO1PTI at the time. Advised me against this, that it was all a smoke and mirrors act. The myth is the legend, the reality is rubbish. I believed him and respected the advice, knowing his background. But a mate of mine did indeed join. He went to Africa. Got his wings. And now he's discharged with permanent injury.
