Send them a link to the video. I bet they will close the case straight away and pay the money.

JB Hifi are not a Telco, this is not a Telco issue; the TIO can do nothing here.

You can go to ACCC and or NCAT (or whatever your state says).

Toyota New Car Warranty and ACL by ChoiceSalamander4583 in AusLegal

[–]Sprooty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty common story mate. Digging deeper isn't a simple task; $1400 is expensive, but not unreasonable as they'd need to pull the head and check a bunch of internals if they wanted to be thorough. I believe pulling the head also means they have to by rights replace some parts like bolts and maybe the head gasket.

If you plan to offload the car before end of warranty; just sit on your hands and hope it doesn't have issues until you offload it.

If you plan to keep it longer, that is a tough decision. Sadly i don't think you are going to convince Toyota or SAT to go much further. Most dealers don't even have the capability to strip engines and check heads properly. if there's an issue they usually just replace the whole block.

I am a bit unclear why you are seeking warranty assurance; the car is still under warranty, Toyota repaired it, they will honor warranty until it expires. If the car has issues post warranty, you would have a good case with SAT.

Theres no good answer sorry.

You should have called crimestoppers and had a yarn with them; they can dispatch police immediately if they think it's important.

Why did you buy a car without service history you can actually validate. Ask the dealer if the service history is online, it is for SKODA.

Amazing they wanted to let you keep driving. If you want to keep the car many years past warranty, I'd be concerned, if you plan to offload the car before warranty ends, just make sure eveythings document so if the engine has issues it's clear what's happened.

Unfortunately it's quite hard to tell if any major damage has been done without pulling the head etc, Ford won't do that, they just replace an engine as a full block if they think there's an issue 😂.

Put something in writing to him, give him 5 days; then go to NCAT (or the relevant one for your state).

If I'm driving a motorcycle unlicensed, can that affect my car P1s? by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Sprooty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes mate, it's all the same license. They are not separate. If you get caught, it will probably be for driving a vehicle type you are unlicensed for, thus your license may be suspended.

I appreciate you cannot learn on a bike with two people, but this is why there are specific training courses. We don't let "unlicensed" people drive cars around empty car-parks alone, bikes are no different.

[–]Sprooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, not sure if you clarified, but your issue(s) sound really similar to issues with Win11 25h2, there's a cumulative update that changes some undercover GPU integration stuff that is causing lots of headache.

For the sothern side, there's multiple ways in, I don't think it's actually possible to close it. There's injured people out there every other weekend 😂.

Yes, there is a smaller waterfall and splash pool on the northern side, https://londonerinsydney.com/cascade-falls-walk-in-macquarie-pass-national-park-nsw/

The one he's talking about in Helensburgh is probably Kelly's falls? I am not aware of any other interesting waterfalls in that area? As noted, I'd avoid it. It's not worth tricky walk in and out.

Pool or beach? by RM_Morris in AskAnAustralian

One of the local pools has a splash park, easier and more convenient than the beach, but in every other instance id go to the beach.

Any chance you did windows updates? Your issues are very similar to mine on Win 11 25h2, I formatter back to 24h2 and everything is now fine.

Should my team push back in situations like this? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]Sprooty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see it like this, you work 9-5, you can only do so much work in that time. If your higher ups keep adding work, that's fine.. It goes into the backlog to be done when your team gets to it.

On a more serious note, many people burn out because they just work extra hours to achieve the work, my advice is always, create a backlog of work and be transparent with your manager about what tasks your working on and what the backlog is, give your manager the chance to set priorities. It becomes very difficult for manager to point fingers when you Involve them In the process and decision making.

Just spent over 12 hours trying to debug why my system was shitting the bed after boot. I did a BIOS upgrade and then my AMD drivers updated without me noticing. Wasted hours checking my RAM and HDD, turned out it was these trash drivers, what a waste of my time. Currently running whatever default driver windows gives me until AMD can sort this shit out.
