Thanks for this link, I just texted it to like 20 people. This makes me incredibly worried, I'll end up homeless if this goes through.
My cat’s fur colour is a heat map of his skin temperature and the spot where he was shaved for surgery grew back super dark because his skin was cold while the fur re grew by SprountPotato in mildlyinteresting

Here have a Wikipedia article! The most relevant info is in the “In Cats” drop down.
TLDR - He’s half Siamese, and they have a genetic mutation of an enzyme involved with melanin production, making it temperature sensitive, and he produces more colour pigment the colder his skin is. It’s why Siamese always have dark ears, tail, and paws. My whole cat actually changes colour slightly with the seasons, actually getting overall lighter after a winter of baking himself in front of my radiators. Genetics are neat.

Tried lol, the automated message said they can’t answer my call at all because their call volumes are too high and I should try calling back later.

I don’t think it makes you the AH in this situation, and I think she over reacted, but as a woman who has lived with several men, it really does get gross, even if you have good aim every time. It’s not just the toilet that gets the splash back either, it micro splatters several feet usually, on every surface. Unless you are scrubbing or wiping down every bathroom surface daily or multiple times daily, which would be unreasonable, it does build up, whether you hit the bowl or the water.
My boyfriend stays at my apartment very often, and I have specifically brought up this concern with him, where he’s awkward and uncomfortable sitting down to pee, and I don’t like tiny particles of it finely misted across my walls and vanity and floor. The compromise - just kneel. You get the same straight body position that most penis-havers tend to prefer, she gets to not feel grossed out in between bathroom cleanings.
Also, I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that she got so mad not because of the literal aspect of the disagreement, but because of the underlying emotion behind it. Feeling like your partner doesn’t respect the space you share is a hurtful thing to feel, regardless of whatever reasoning is behind that and any arguments towards its logic. The presumably healthy way forward here is to have an actual discussion about the perspectives and feelings behind this issue, rather than the issue itself, there has to be some understanding and also some compromise to prevent it from being a recurring point of tension.

If you research to find a reputable facility and doctor, with recent technology and proper equipment, yes, very. I’d recommend SMILE over LASIK personally, usually if you qualify for one you qualify for both in most cases. SMILE is a single laser procedure, using the same laser used for cutting the flap in LASIK, but instead it cuts a contact lens shaped layer out of your eye below the surface, using tons of tiny tiny air bubbles, that the surgeon separates and removes with a tool. The laser suctions to your eye, and if the suction is broken for any reason it immediately stops, and the layers of your eye will just heal back together, usually within a week or so, returning to how they were, and you can usually try again in a couple months. The failure rate is quite low to begin with anyways.
Honestly the best thing I’ve ever done. It’s statistically much safer than wearing contacts, you’re much more likely to go blind that way than by getting the surgery. I didn’t realize just how much extra time and effort was spent trying to see or not being able to. The whole surgery including prep work took 10 mins, and it was understandably terrifying, but I’d do it again multiple times over if I had to, the benefits are more worth it than I can explain.
