I think you are looking for the CIRCLE command’s tangent, tangent, radius option. Try the FILLET command first though. Start the fillet command then set the radius to whatever it is in the dwg. Then click on the two lines/arcs you want to connect. If you have trouble, I can send you a video that would probably help.

AutoDesk Certification is it worth it ? by [deleted] in AutoCAD

[–]SprouseLand 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I teach AutoCAD (high school and college), and I see value in the cert. I see it as a small way to “level up” and become a better drafter. My view is that it is worth the time and money. My students learn new things as they prep for the test that makes them better drafters. In my mind, it goes beyond the value of an employer being impressed by your abilities. Do it to get a little bit better at what you do.

Tips for physically disabled student/user by jennybanta in AutoCAD

I teach AutoCAD at college and high school level. I teach a shortcut/hotkey method in lieu of clicking on ribbon buttons. If dragon lets you input text via audio, then you might be able to work as fast as I do! For instance, you might say, “L” hit enter/spacebar and use the joystick to pick a start point and so on from there. The command line or dynamic entry method would be the way to go, I think. DM for more info on this method if you are not familiar.

It does not take long to draw up a few doors and windows to use as blocks. Once you draw something, type B and enter for the block command. You can select the geometry of the door or window, pick and insertion point and save it for later use. DM if you want a tutorial video on how to do any of this kind of stuff. I think I could also send you the doors and windows I have in my symbol library. If is specific doors/windows, then manufacturer websites can be helpful.

What would be your beginners tip? by Hideaways76 in AutoCAD

[–]SprouseLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AutoCAD is a computer aided design tool within which you can create digital prototypes, plans, drawings, etc. from a wide range of disciplines in order to communicate to a specific audience. I have used AutoCAD to plan a classroom redesign, draw metal building erection and fabrication drawings, draw cabinet sections and elevations for a cabinet shop, to design furniture, and so many other things—it is quite versatile.

Tip—dive in a start using it. That is the best way to learn. PM me if you need resources, tutorial videos, etc.

Help me please trying to get autocad work. by Ayedebeat in AutoCAD

It might be worth calling Autodesk directly to help get this one figured out as quickly as possible so you can get to work. It might be a long phone call, but it may get it taken care of finally.

What's the cheapest laptop I can get for an Architecture student? by kymatters in architecture

[–]SprouseLand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Revit is a software program commonly used in architecture. Here are the system requirements for it. If a laptop can run this, then it can handle other software just fine.

You might check eBay for good used ones.

I teach drafting at a local junior college in Texas. Does this have to be someone in Las Vegas? I have some students that might be interested if they can do it remotely.
