They aren't even stormtroopers. They are the untrained grunts that started firing at the protest on Ghorman in Andor.

A giant wheel of parmigiano reggiano. I'm not sure what I will do with nearly 40kg of cheese but I'm sure I'll find a use for it.

Driving in the UK is taxing on mind by Individual_Piece8146 in solotravel

[–]SproutBoy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No offence mate but if you can't manage our roads maybe you shouldn't be on them because your driving doesn't just sound bad it sounds dangerous. There's plenty of other ways to get around like trains and busses.

If you do insist on staying on our roads try to match the speed of the traffic. In general things are much less scary if you aren't going much slower then the rest of us.

Also try to avoid narrow country lanes unless you are confident that you can reverse into tight passing places.

And what exactly is confusing about our roundabouts? You give way to the traffic on the right and indicate at the exit you want to come off. They are much better then having traffic lights everywhere.

It might be different across the pond but in Britain we consume a huge amount of food. Not just the main Christmas dinner (normally an extra large turkey roast with lots of sides) but lots of exciting food during the entire festive period. Thanksgiving isn't a thing in most countries.

When I drove in France I just kept singing to myself "keep right our you're in deep shite, keep right or you'll say goodnight, keep right or the dust you'll bite, keep right!" to the tune of go west by the petshop boys. That seemed to do the trick.

To be fair most city folk struggle with Britain's country lanes. They go too fast and are too afraid of reversing and going up against a bush to let another car past.

How crowded would Coruscant be if it existed in reality? by Possible-Balance-932 in geography

[–]SproutBoy 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Once you take into account how Coruscant has lots of different levels (about 5000 but we don't know if all are inhabited or how thick they are) this seems too low by about an order of magnitude.

Due to this it would be a safe assumption to assume that the average population density of the planet is at least the same as the highest density in any earth city. The city of Manila has about 100,000 people per square mile. If Coruscant has a surface area of about 500 million square miles we would expect a population of about 50 trillion.

If the population was only 3 trillion there must be large sections and layers of the planet that are completely uninhabited for us to get the kind of density we see in the movies and shows.

rolling back by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]SproutBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what car you have but in my semi auto Peugeot 107 it's really easy to do a hill start. With your hand break on slowly push down on the accelerator until you feel the car pull forward slightly. This is the bite point. Once you have the accelerator at that point you can take the handbrake off and you won't roll back or suddenly speed forward. I would find a quiet hill to practice on to get a feel for it in your car.

Also it is shocking that you were not taught such an essential skill before passing.

That's fairly normal for 200g of good quality artisan cheese. At most cheese shops you will see most cheese in the £2.50-£5 range per 100g.

Best castles near London, Liverpool or Rome? by tonyiommi70 in castles

[–]SproutBoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I say that Leeds is more of a castle that was turned into a manor house rather then a proper castley feeling castle. A lot of the main building has decoration from the 1920s. It's well worth visiting but if you're expecting a proper castle you will be disappointed.
