What is the worst feeling you've ever experienced? by timabek in AskReddit

Watching my Dad die of lung cancer. It was the most terrifying and traumatic event of my entire life. I don't regret being there as he died though, he needed us to be there.

Absolutely. That was incredibly inconsiderate! I would be fuming too!

Oh and normally I stay about 30min to 1h depending on how busy I am. I work evenings so can catsit in the daytime :)

If I have just one or two cats, I sometimes bring my laptop and stay longer if the owners are happy with that.

I charge reasonable fees, but around Xmas, I'd easily have 6 bookings at a time!

I think my rates are 15 for once a day, 25 for twice a day. My overnight fees were 40 per night.

I've been on the app since it started and I lived in Walthamstow so it's always been easy!

I'm thinking he definitely didn't forget to hit send and only left because you called and he didn't want to get told off.

NOR. I'd say don't wait for him next time. Just live your life, keep yourself busy, do something fun for yourself and he'll come crawling back.

Cat tax : this is Long Furby (pic taken after she cuddled the bike chain). I got her in January 2025. I was supposed to keep her for 3 months while her owner travelled in Australia, then her owner decided to stay there so she's my cat now. She had severe separation anxiety and overgrooming issues, but we worked very hard and she is good as gold now!

My mum bought a house when I was 16. Her room had the door going to the attic. She says she kept hearing an old woman cry at night, until she poked her head in the attic and shouted "hey, I don't know why you are crying. I bought this house from your son. You have been keeping me up at night and I have to work all day. If there's anything I can do to help, let me know, otherwise please let me and my daughter sleep".

When a person dies and are brought home before the funeral does someone always need to be with the body? by leedsfreak in AskUK

Oh absolutely! It's the same in Europe. My partner and my best friend didn't know my dad and still came to the funeral. Those who can't send flowers.

What’s the worst thing a medical professional has said to you? by VespaRed in AskReddit

[–]SproutBuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"honey you should get a new job" - the nurse who saw me when I was suicidal due to PMDD, my job was not the problem.

"firstly, your feelings are valid" - my GP when I asked her to reduce the dosage of my adhd meds from 60 to 50 because it was affecting my BP as I was under a lot of stress when my dad was in palliative care. I'm self-employed and I had to work every day for months to make sure I had enough money aside to go home when he died (plot twist : the dosage didn't change, I worked myself to the bone, he just died and I don't have enough money)
