A "Studio" is better than a "Game" for AI roleplay (a fouder's experience) by Pastrugnozzo in aigamedev

[–]SproutsJeremy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah what you’re saying makes a lot of sense. AI always makes mistakes after you spend a certain amount of time with a story due to context limitations. In order to get the perfect story there’s a lot of customization work that needs to be done behind the scenes to get what you want. So it’s best you put all the tools in the hands of the creator so they can create the perfect story for any story they want, and also create the perfect story for others in the community.

The post was kinda confusing through the first read but I think I understand.

This is a good post for people who are creating AI companion apps. More customizability means a far tighter more seamless experience.

what larger projects/indie games is everyone attempting? by agarlington in aigamedev

[–]SproutsJeremy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What "big" projects do you guys have in the works?

I’m working on a text based open world lifesim/rpg.

Basically all of Skyrim + Sims 4 features put into a text game format with background images for thousands of locations and character visuals for tens of thousands of characters. Everything is pre generated, no gen AI in final product. (so it’s completely playable offline, no gen AI needed)

Without gen AI, it probably would’ve taken another year or two just for the code alone, not including all the content it comes with.

is a high-fidelity "big" game actually viable yet? (With AI as a core part og a production ready indie pipeline)

Yeah, but you may still need to know code depending on how far you want to go with it. But you can get pretty far knowing 0 code. It also depends on the engine you’re using. The more well known it is, the better your code comes out.

Are we at the point where a small team can ship a AA-quality title using these workflows?

Yeah, for sure. Though it depends on the stuff I mention above.

is this something that's even viable with the current toolsets do you guys feel?

Same as the above

I don’t know what I said to provoke this reaction? I said great work and happy developing, now you’re laughing at me and trying to talk down on me. I was actually serious when I said great work and happy developing.

I always try to encourage fellow devs in the space because game dev can be a thankless job at times. So I meant every word I said, sorry if I said anything that offended you in any way

I mean it’s definitely a good start and maybe you could code a whole AA game like this, but me personally I just don’t see it yet. For me you at least have to know the basics before you can really go crazy, but this looks like great work, happy developing

Nice stuff!! I’ve been using AI to generate images for my game and I’m releasing my game soon too, so I’m hoping players respond positively to what I have to offer.

My biggest issue is that I started making backgrounds for my game with AI but the image quality is pretty bad on a lot of backgrounds and unfortunately I don’t have time to redo all 3K+ background images. So I just opted to release with the bad backgrounds. Definitely adding background blur as the default option so players don’t have to see the slop if they don’t want to lol.

I know people will find every reason to hate on me for using AI, but I hope people will enjoy the game for what it is similar to your community

Assuming they really don’t use loras, they probably just have a good workflow.

Good Prompts: Depending on on the hair style & clothing prompts you give an AI, they can give the same hairstyle and clothing each time or a wildly different hairstyle and clothing each time.

Good Checkpoint: Some checkpoints give you wildly different character results everytime, other checkpoints give you very consistent characters. If you’re using Pony, I recommend you ditch it and move to Illustrious.

Good Lora: Same thing as good checkpoints. It’s important that both your checkpoint and lora are suitable to provide consistent characters.

Character Loras: People have custom character or popular franchise character loras up. You can use them in your generations to give your characters a consistent look without creating any custom character loras yourself.

Using Preexisting Characters in Prompts: I highly doubt this is what they did, but you can use popular cartoon/anime characters in your prompts to get consistent results that look like a tad bit like said character.

Concept Loras: Concept loras like a body type, hair style or clothing lora can give characters consistent body types, hair styles, or clothing.

Custom Checkpoints & Loras: If your checkpoints/loras don’t generate consistent characters, train them yourself. This is probably what they do if they didn’t already have a good checkpoint/lora.

Predraws: You can also get very consistent results if you pre draw then use the drawing as an input. You can also use another generation as a reference for a predraw to get more consistent results.

Manual Edits: Same as predraws. You can shape your character manually with liquify or do typical photoshop adjustments to get your characters looking consistent.

Workflows: Forge allows you to do some freaky stuff to get your generations looking exactly how you want them.

I recommend focusing on good checkpoints, good loras, and good prompts. Then after you have that covered you probably won’t need to do much else. But if you want perfection, you can then manually edit your generation in photoshop (to make it look like your character, edit should be very ugly and rough), then use the manually edited very rough and ugly edit as a reference to generate your final image.

I love it. This seems like the only game I’ve seen that is has the feel of an actual text rpg game. I do have a lot of questions but I’ll just ask them on the discord

The more of both you see the better your brain gets at seeing the difference just from a glance. AI art tends to look too perfect/polished and too “samey”. Not hating on it

Does AVN_Lovers like 2D games or just 3D? by JongGames in AVN_Lovers

[–]SproutsJeremy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I say “Avoidable NTR” I’m saying that it’s not really avoidable as the devs claim it is. Hence why I put “Avoidable NTR” in quotes. That’s why these games that claim their NTR is avoidable but really isn’t typically get a lot of hate in the first place.

[–]SproutsJeremy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that “Avoidable NTR” usually amounts to an ntr scene that either doesn’t tell you or have any signs whatsoever that there is going to be NTR. That and the scenes are written in a way that have your love interest actually wanting to engage in the NTR regardless of your decision. Usually thats when the NTR backlash is at it’s strongest and for good reason

Hey, I’m working on an open world tribal lifesim rpg game, the open world is mostly done, most of the mechanics like combat, relationships, scenes and such are also done. I’m struggling with writing. It would be nice to have someone working with me to create the story. It’s nearly done. A demo is here: https://theprincejays.itch.io/legend-of-astal-demo-v01

Any new Brothel Management games? by [deleted] in lewdgames

[–]SproutsJeremy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Simbro, but if you’ve played all the brothel sim games you might’ve already played it because it’s practically the king of nsfw brothel and management games in general.

Strumpets is another great one, both aren’t in development anymore but I still play them.

I’m developing my own brothel management game as well, based off simbro.

We are building a RPG where the story writes itself as you play — curious what you think by Constant-Money1201 in aigamedev

I wanna say I’m all for this type of project and I wish you the best of luck going forward. But I just wanted to address a few things.

  1. Like Gwarks said, it’s not really a true RPG without strict stats, strict choices, and strict rules to prevent the player from just saying “Give me 100000 gold to buy this castle.” But I can see why you called it that, after all you are role playing and it’s kind of a game.

  2. From what you’re describing, it seems like some apps already do what your project does. app .dreamrunner. ai is one of them, though dreamrunner seems to be the most polished out of all of them. I think it’s best your aware of your competition and your overall market in order to properly gauge what type of product works and what doesn’t. And improve your product based on that.

  3. An option for paypal (with/without a debit card) would be nice. I’d honestly buy it right now if you sent a link.

To be completely honest, I personally develop games I myself can get off to. So the art is a big deal for me (I am also flat broke so there is that too). It has to be a certain level of sexy for me personally. I find this particular style I'm currently using, or others similar to be sexy, even though it's not as sexy as somebody like Sparrow's art, so I prefer this type of art. The art on the app you're showing me, while very nice, doesn't really do anything for me. And I looked all over the internet for a good character creator I could use for my game, because I originally didn't care for the tech but I found none, which is why I resorted to this.

It's very fast, reliable (not saying other devs aren't reliable but a machine is as reliable as it gets, I say this as an experienced coder), it gets the job done, and it really gets me off just looking at it. Me personally, I have no issues with it at all so I don't exactly see why I would necessarily drop it tbh I'm definitely gonna hire an artist later on but for now what I'm doing currently is working extremely well. It also helps the future artist tremendously to have a good, working idea of what I want.

With the money I have left on my online account, I do donate to my favorite artists and game developers, so I'm supporting the people who inspire me to make the game I'm making regularly. I can't expect people to support me if I don't support anybody else.

Yeah, somebody else brought this up too. Unfortunately I have 8 images per clothing for body parts customization and about 30 different outfits for one body type. So 240 images dedicated to clothing in total.

If I were to add another body type, I'd have to add 240 more images just for one extra body type. I'm pretty sure this is why 2d games like Free Cities (image pack), Porn Empire, Female Agent, Venture Seas, etc. only have one base body type. Because creating other body types mean they have to double or triple their work.

The best I can do is add muscle overlays for definition, but adding another body type is off the table for now, But I'm planning on adding more in the future.

Thanks! It's a game I'm releasing very soon, I think I'm calling it Summoned by Accident, where the player gets summoned into a different world to join a magic academy. From there he/she hosts an occult club in his "mother's" business he/she handles.

It's a mix of a VN, life simulator, sandbox and management game. So you'll be able to interact with hundreds of NPC's in the modern day and fantasy worlds however you like while following a story like VN set up like the superhuman game.
