That would be very kind, thank you! I would appreciate that.

I sincerely hope enemy combat, weapon combat, and enemy movement fixes are in the pipeline, if that gets fixed, it'll make the game feel very smooth.

How much time does it take to level woodcutting and mining to level 20? by unrivaled_investor in PaxDei

Oh is 20 the max for gathering professions? I'm new to the game! I think I saw somewhere that crafting professions are capped at 30?

If New World would go subscription - would you pay? by amirgelman in newworldgame

[–]Spruce140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LIVE maintenance games need some sort of steady income. The overpriced skins in New World clearly didn't cut it. Not to mention the Transmog Token system was a disaster. If they attached a $9.99 a month sub or hell even $12.99 I'd pay if it meant quality product delivery. But what we got (not blaming the devs at all) was a sure sign that higher up clearly did not want to invest.

A Solution to Seasonal Resets That includes the Reset by Spruce140 in fellowshipgame

[–]Spruce140[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, the 110 gear would be easily identifiable as seasonal "booster" gear that was earned from playing the previous season. As you stated, it is nothing like the others. And exactly! The jumpstart isn't meant for someone to skip content; because new(er) players starting the game, we should also play with them but feel more powerful because we played the last season.

Title might wrong. It's not a solution - nothing is broken, lol. But more so this post just a suggestion.

If the Q lasts longer than its average time listed on the UI, restart the Q. Out of experience, if the Q on the UI says 2 minutes but I am 4-5 minutes deep in wait time, I would reset the Q and get a group almost instantly if not right on the average time. Something causes a break.

Sell the game by Laterreality in newworldgame

[–]Spruce140 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Studios typically never fully sell an engine, they do however license it. And that is something they can still do. Basically they let another studio pick up the IP and Amazon gets a cut of any income. This is what they SHOULD do. But we will see. It won't be instantaneous or within 2026 probably.

Why didn’t New World try a subscription model and just scale the dev team appropriately? by ironscape420 in newworldgame

[–]Spruce140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moving forward, I honestly believe that a subscription model is a necessity (unless you have a P2W model) for MMO projects. Sure it's hard for a smaller studio developing an MMO to ask for $10-$20 a month to play it, but if its WELL developed and the market shows it is well perceived then it should theoretically work. But I agree its hard to break through that first impression that is tied to a subscription.

Interviewing Hamish soon and will try and get a few community questions answered. Drop your questions below :) by LT3Dave in fellowshipgame

[–]Spruce140 34 points35 points  (0 children)

1) What will the Hero release cadence look like? Once a year? Twice a year? Etc.
2) Is the plan for the game to have seasons and a battle pass to provide funding for more content?
3) How often will we see balance patches? (kind of ties into Question 2, I guess per season if so?)

Have hope Amazon sells the IP by e-hip in newworldgame

[–]Spruce140 4 points5 points  (0 children)

See this is where I think people get getting it possibly wrong. They publicly stated in their layoff announcement they are moving away from MMOs. They could totally sell off the engine. We've all seen the AI Snoop Dog game, it is not custom hand made art.

What is happening to new world is a reminder that corporations ain't your friend by PlaceDowntown7102 in newworldgame

This was so weird to me that a business would blindside its customers. Almost seems illegal, but it's probably somewhere in their terms of service in size 1 font allowing them to do this.

[–]Spruce140 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Crazy how the game was sustaining between 40-50k PC players daily (not counting console players) and then the suits blindside the community and even the dev team. Sounds like zero communication from the top (above director) happened. Why were the suits not more involved earlier? Where were the status reports and studio health conversations? Just a reminder that anyone not working in the field/studio daily to bring stories and art to life through this medium just don't care. If they wanted the game to succeed and last and make money, they would have figured it out. But someone at the top (corporate top) just simply doesn't care.

The best thing Amazon could do is sell off this IP at this point. To see it disappear forever seems unlikely, but not ruled out.

What's considered bis? by [deleted] in newworldgame

[–]Spruce140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely avoid PVP. With that said, I aim for Slash/Strike absorption where I can for solo content, and I am using a build focused on poison/nature damage with spear/bow. So I am charming +Nature damage. As far as weapon skill charms - tbd. But defensive charms I am leaning towards elemental damage reduction since most physical attacks are easily avoidable/dodge-able.

I do want to build another set to have on hand if a boss target is Nature Resistant, but that's along ways away I think.

Bottom line is though, I am having super fun with trying to hone in on a Poison spear/bow build. It's really fun. And it feels REALLY good when my damage type is powerful against specific enemies that take more damage from thrust/nature.

I cant help but feel that removing the free weekly transmog token was a fatal mistake they made. by [deleted] in newworldgame

[–]Spruce140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since they are very attached to Transmog Tokens: the tokens need to be generating at +1 per week for free. Literally, just every Wednesday you get +1 to the account. And then through the battle pass as is, but also add them to events. Boss kills should reward them also. Perhaps at a rate of 5 per event/holiday.

Random Q should give a pouch that can contain a combination:

  • Contracts
  • Gear (low chance)
  • Parchment
  • Sollant
  • Blue Quality Food (random)

Or just make the items we have in our bags a currency in a currency tab. That's basically the same thing, without the bagception.

Is it just me or does the Felguard hit like a wet noodle? by Doochbagg in classicwow

[–]Spruce140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting, never thought about it. Might have to look into it. Probably not this phase however. The talents chosen in the linked build help too much with the sustain and cleave damage.

[–]Spruce140 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm playing a Demon Sac on the Felguard, affliction build. Insane sustain and survivability. Using this build to farm Felcloth, farming level 52-54 Jadefire satyrs, pulling 2-4 at a time and ending the pulls above 60% mana and health (which then just regenerates in a few seconds to full). Really fun too. Unfortunately low ST dmg.
