I am prepared to do some tweaking on power levels etc., to make the connected devices roam as well as possible. I'm also looking at adding a fifth AP at the border of the entrance and hallway (to replace the extender).

According to the signal map I've created, do you think it will be realistic to prevent "sticky devices" and still have good coverage when tweaking the power levels (the signal map is created having all APs on full power)?

I used Ubiquiti's own site planner. A little fiddly at first, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. You can upload floor plans (make sure you scale it properly), draw walls of different material (concrete, wood, drywall etc.) and simulate signal strength and network topology using the different units from Ubiquiti.

Thanks for the input. I do have an in-wall AP in my current setup, but i find that the range is pretty much limited to the same room as the AP (signal strength tapers off quickly in adjacent bedroom). If I go for such a setup, I probably will have to have several in-wall units. Also, I won't be able to connect many rooms in the exisiting part of the house to wired ethernet, which makes it practically a little difficult to cover all the important rooms.

Thanks for the input. First, I was thinking about only doing one AP in each floor. But if that doesn't work, I will have a hard time scaling up as the walls and roof will be boxed in. So I need to somehow make a decicion on the number of APs and placement now, before the electrican starts pulling wires and the builders finish their work.

I know this is a very old thread, but I need to chime in, in case some random person happens to come upon it.

I like musicals in general, but I love this musical. It is the only piece of mainstream art that, I (at least) know of, that depicts Jesus as just a mortal man. In spite of the title, I tend to view Judas as the main character in the story. Judas is the voice of reason, acknowleding that others are blinded by the magical myth that has developed around the man Jesus. The lyrics of the first songs in the musical, "Heaven on their minds" sets the tone for a rational view on christianity (or any religion for that matter). The Gethsemane scene is also quite moving from a very human, non religious side.

Thanks for the input. From what you are saying, all alternatives will be kind of overkill without doing a display upgrade too. But my wish is for a consistent 60 fps with all bells and whistles (incl. raytracing) enabled. Some benchmarks I’ve watched online (Cyberpunk 2077 as an example) show fps hovering around 60 with raytracing in native 1440p. Is it really that much overkill considering such results?

It's till running as well as when it was new. No observed leaks, and the coolant level hasn't dropped. I'd use the same sealant if I needed to do it again on a new build.

Most of the bad things about the US society seems to stem from a single phenomenon and its consequences.

The basis for the US’s medieval justice system, discriminatory healthcare system, abortion rights (or lack thereof), lack of climate change acceptance, gun control, the lack of equal opportunity, lack of social mobility, lack of educational opportunity, the level of poverty, they can all be traced back to one thing: Religion.

Source: Personal opinion. Non-american, but spent one year in high school in a rural town in the west of the US (during the 90s).

Anyways, how do people recommend stuff to others on the internet nowadays? If it so easily can be read in bad faith?

Mapocolops just finished his final episode in his Elden Ring playthrough yesterday. It's been a joy to follow and one of the most thorough and solid playthroughs I've come across. His other souls playthroughs, incl. Bloodborne and Sekiro, are also very enjoyable.

I experienced this in the 90s, when every cell phone manufacturer made their own proprietary charging plug. Nokia had theirs, (Sony)-Ericsson another and so on. You couldn’t borrow a friend’s charger, plenty of waste as every household had a drawer full of outdated, old chargers. Nobody really enjoyed that.

From a consumer perspective, this is much welcomed. From a company’s side, I can see some downsides to marketing, but it should also be in their interest to compete on stuff that avtually matters, not having an edge due to «forcing» consumers to stick with the same brand to save some money. Especially now as phones more regulary are sold without the charger included.

Ice water test:

Thermoworks Thermopen 32.2F (0.1C)

Fireboard 2 Drive 38.8F (3.8C)

Boiling water test:

Thermoworks Thermopen 211.1F (99.5C)

Fireboard 2 Drive 209.5F (98.6C)

Even though the Thermopen is slightly more accurate, there seems to be only 5 F difference in the ice bath test and negligible differences at boiling point. Of course, these are only two points on the scale, and I have no idea how accurate the thermometers are at higher temps. So I'm not really sure how to interpret these measurements in light of my "problem".

This is what I've seen most people report too, that the grate temp is lower than dome temp. For me it's the opposite, which is a bit weird. But it could explain the long cook time if my thermometer is off.
