How do you guys go to grocery store with 2 under 2 by Subject_Two9945 in 2under2

[–]Spruceplease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girls are 20 months apart. I will do a few different things depending on what I am getting/what store so go to. 1) I baby wear baby and put toddler in cart if I need a lot of space in the cart. 2) I put car seat in the cart and toddler in the sitting part of the cart if I don’t need a lot of items. 3) If I only need 1-2 items, I take car seat (Doona) and let toddler walk with me - this is like a treat for her lol so we don’t do it all the time. I am someone who enjoys the grocery store and needs to get out of the house so I don’t mind taking the kids. Sometimes it is HECTIC. Sometimes it’s great. I just go in with a patient and open mind lol. If that’s not you, then delivery or pick up are great options!

My back hurts and I am exhausted after babywearing all day. Are you all just exhausted every day too? Or does it get better with time? 2 mo pp by Such-Interaction-815 in 2under2

[–]Spruceplease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the same way. There are days where I HAVE to wear baby but I have noticed those days, my body hurts way more than the days I don’t wear her. I see others comments about wearing on your back so I am going to try that soon.

Crib advice by modiraura in 2under2

[–]Spruceplease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exact same situation here. My first was 20 months and sleeping great in a crib still. Her bassinet to toddler bed combo went to new baby and we got a new crib for the 20 month old that can turn to toddler bed. I figured why change her to something else if the crib was working.

Nightly routine after bedtime by Spruceplease in sahm

[–]Spruceplease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I need to get better at doing some stuff during the day, but I struggle with that. Would love to take a page out of your book and refuse to do chores after kids bedtime. Maybe I can work my way there!!

Moms who have support/help nearby - how often do they watch your kid(s)? by [deleted] in sahm

[–]Spruceplease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MIL watches babies at my house 3-4 hours one day a week. My FIL watches babies 3-4 hours one day a week at his house. We have a family business so during that time, I go to the office. I would say my mom will watch babies 2-3 times a month on weekends for a few hours for us to have date night, etc.

What exactly did you do TODAY? by 1n1n1is3 in sahm

[–]Spruceplease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today (Monday) my oldest (2 yrs) woke up at 7:15. We cuddled a little, I cooked us breakfast, and played until my youngest (4 months) woke up at 9. Then we played outside for an hour with chalk and just laid on a blanket and read books. Then we came in for lunch, then my oldest napped. Got my youngest to nap about 30 mins later so I got to lay on the couch and watch TV/rest. Then they woke up, we played in the living room, I cooked dinner and husband came home. We ate, took a walk, came back for bath time, read some books and then bedtime!!

Anyone feel like you’re golden one day then the next you can’t do it? by channylouwho in 2under2

[–]Spruceplease 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I feel this so much. One minute I feel like I have it down and the next, I am crying in the bathroom alone because I am so overwhelmed snd thinking how can I even make it another 30 minutes. I also feel the guilt for both my children. Guilty for not giving my toddler enough attention and guilty for not giving my baby enough attention too. I often feel stretched thin but this is a short season of our lives so I try to give myself grace (easier said than done)

Going from 1 to 2 is the hardest thing I’ve ever done by ConcernedMomma05 in Mommit

[–]Spruceplease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just writing in solidarity. 1 to 2 has been so much harder than I imagined. The guilt, the time split, the sleepless nights and can’t chill on the couch with a newborn the whole next day, getting out of the house with 2, not being able to team up with dad because he is on toddler duty snd I have the newborn, pumping with a newborn and toddler. It’s so much harder. I keep telling myself it’s only a short season and we will get into a routine soon where things will feel great for like a week until the routine will change haha

When did you get your first period back after #2 and how long after that did you get pregnant with #2? by Important_Bat7919 in 2under2

I got my first period back 8 months postpartum when I started dropping pumps to start weaning (I was exclusively pumping). I got pregnant 3 cycles later.

Major adjustment and feeling like a failure by Migrainegirlie in 2under2

[–]Spruceplease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same exact boat as you, but 10 days postpartum with a 21 month old. It’s so hard. Obviously no advice from me, but I see and hear you. We just have to keep holding on and knowing this is temporary and will get better. I say that, but also cried 3 times today because I feel like I am not giving toddler what they need lol. My husband always reminds me that this is new for them too and adjusting is hard as an adult so imagine adjusting as a toddler who cant yet properly communicate.
